ways in which government
grain operations are or may be,
conducted to arrive at recom-
mendations as to the best pro-
cedures in the public interest.

Assn., told the committee in
its meeting that recent months
have brought abundant proof of
the industry’s great value to
the nation.
Without the intelligent and
efficient work of some 11,000
commercial warehousemen dur-
ing the 1560 deluge of grain sup-
plies, the government’s price
and commodity programs would
have collapsed info chaos, he
said.
“When our industry wag be-
ing criticized in the Syming-
ton and Fountain Committee
earlier this year, very little ere
dit was given for the absolutely
vital service we perform in mak-
ing the government programs
work.
“I congratulate your commit-

plan and act constructively now,
so it will not be so easy in
the future for us to be made
a political football.”

Family Life
Conference Set
For Oct. 18
The Family Life Education
committee, under the leader-
ship of Mrs. Robert Tice, has
planned a Family Life Confer-
ence for October 18. The pro-
gram will be held at the E.
Merle Smith Junior High School
in Sinton.
The Family Life Education
Committee is composed of peo-
ple from each of the cities of
the county. This committee is
organized through the Public
Affairs Education Com mittee
which acts as a guide to the
selection of education programs
for the Pilot Projects conduct-
ed by the County Extension
Staff, D. P. Pawlik and Dorothy
Ives. The Pilot Project Consul-
tant is Dr. Ed. Schlutt.
The committee has been con-
cerned about the growing lack
of family unity. It has devel-
oped as their purpose, to help
the family grow together, men-
tally, spiritually and socially,
through their educational pro-
grams.
The purpose of this Family
Life Conference, which consists
of a talk by Dr. Glenn Ramsey
and discussions, is education:
1. To help the people dis-
cover the importance for the
family to live (work and play)
together as a unit; each mem-
ber of the family must have
a strong feeling of responsibil-
ity for each others welfare.
2. To help the family become
more aware of their family
problems and think of ways
these problems can be alleviat-
ed.
4. To motivate people to
analyze their family situation
in relation to their community.
Is your family situation ef-
fective arrangement so that
each of the members can
assume responxibility, share
and feel secure, with plans for
the future.
