were elected to Student Associa-
tion Government positions fol-
lowing election procedures yes-
terday Fowler defeated Hobby
Brown for the office of vice-
president Miss Gardner won the secre-
tarial position over Sally Stone
Fowler is a freshman from
Pecos Drown is a sophomore
from McLean
A sophomore. Miss Gardner
is from Abilene Miss Stone is
an El Paso freshman
The vice-president and secretary-treasurer
positions were
the only contested races on the
Student Association Government
executive council The positions
of president and head cheerlead-
er were filled by petitions from
Gus Taylor Muleshoe junior
and Pug Deavcnport sophomore
from Stanton respectively
Petitions for class officers and
student government representa-
tives are due Thursday Each
class will choose a president
vice-president secretary-treasurer
and four congressmen in
elections next Tuesday The new
constitution proposed by the
SAG prov ides for four class re-
presentotives to the Student
Congress and does away with
the bicameral house composed of
representatives and senators If
the constitution is ratified Thurs-
day a unicameral house will be
created
