Theme Used For
Sixth Graders
A red and white color scheme
was carried out In all the ap-
pointments when Lyn Sterling
entertained sixth • grade class-
mates with an end-of-schooi
dance Thursday night.
Mr. and Mrs. George C. Sterl-
ing Jr. were host* at the Lake-
wood Clubhouse. The young hos-
tess greeted guests In a white
pique dress trimmed with a red
cummerbund and red bows at
the shoulders.
Red and white balloons and
streamers hung from the ceiling.
The serving table, covered in
white, held a boy and girl grad-
uate at either side. Flanking the
dessert were red candles In crys-
tal candleabra. The white sheet
cake was covered with red roses
and a large satin bow trimmed
one end of it. Icing script on the
cake read, “Goodbye Travis,
Hello BJH.’’
As favors, each guest received
small white graduation hats filled
with red candles. Movies were
taken by Sterling.

tor's room of The First National
Bank. “Echo of the Flute” by
Mildred Jordan was reviewed
by Mrs. Jack Furhee. The novel
Is about a German family; the
setting Is arpund Philadelphia:
the time is during and following
the Revolutionary War.
The book is written in a rather
unusual manner in the fact that
it is one continuous story except
for the three parts. The first
part is called “A Bed Full of
Brambles” and dated September
25, 1777; the second part is called
"Vinegar of the Four Thieves”
and1 dated January, 1793 or 16
years later; the third part is
called “The Tender Branch," and
dated October, 17M,
