Douglas Spiekerman exchanged
marriage vows in a double -ring
ceremony performed at SS Cy-
ril and Methodist Church in
Corpus Christi Saturday after-
noon.
Parents of the couple are Mr.
and Mrs. W. F. Tepera of Cor-
pus Christi and Mr. and Mrs.
A. C. Spiekerman of Edroy.
The sanctuary decorations in-
cluded baskets of white gladioli
and branched candelabra hold-
ing cathedral tapers.
The bride, given in marriage
(by her father, wore a white
satin dress of Empire design.
Alencon lace outlined the neck-
line and accented the watteau
train. Lace petals, leaves and
the illusion veil; The bride’s bou-
quet was fashioned of orchids
in a circlet of white asters.
Mrs. Loyd Turner was ma-
tron of honor. Bridesmaids were
Miss Frances Spiekerman, sis-
ter of the groom, Miss Trudy Te-
pera of Austin, Miss Annette
Brezina of Taft and Miss Kath-
leen Tepera, sister of the bride,
They wore lime green linen
dresses with watteau trains.
Each carried a ball shaped bou-
quet of pastel tinted asters sus-
pended from her wrist by braid-
ed ribbons.
Mike Spiekerman served as
Tbest man for his brother.
Groomsmen were Charles Thiele
Of Mathis, Bob Wyatt of Tilden
Charles Spiekerman of Odem
and Larry Brezina of Taft. Ush-
ers were Leonard Schwertner of
Killeen, Buddy Adams of San
Angelo, Billy Chase of College
Station and Robert Saenz.

Miss Vicki Lynn Headrick be-
came the bride of Lawrence
Bradford Way in the home of
her parents Mr. and Mrs. W. E.
(Headrick, Wednesday evening

Park Avenue Church of Christ
minister, officiated.
Parents of the groom are Mr.
and Mrs. Nottinham of San Die-
go, Calif.
The bride wore a street-length
dress of white and silver lame,
with which she used white ac-
cessories. She wore a lace stole
pinned at the shoulder with a
family heirliom booch. She car-
ried a bouquet of red car-
nations.
Mrs. Barbara Myers was the
bride’s only attendant. She wore
a pink street-length dress and
carried a nosegay of pink and
White carnations. David Head-
rick, brother of the bride, acted
las best man.
A reception was held after
the ceremony with relatives and
close friends attending. The
bride’s table was laid with a
band crocheted cloth and held
lor a centerpiece ah arrange-
ment of white daisies.
Miss Nancy Chapa of Corpus
Christi served the cake and Miss
Lee Kirby also of Corpus Christi
poured the punch. Mrs. Barbara
Myers presided at the coffee’

The couple left Friday morn-
ing for San Diego, Calif., where
they will make their home.
The bridegroom has recently
completed a three-year enlist-
ment in the U. S. Army. He
Served one year in Vietnam im-
mediately before his separation
from the Army.
Janet Marie Tepera, sister of
the bride, was flower girl and
Anthony Habib Jr. was ring-
bearer.
The bride’s mother wore a
turquoise silk shantung suit with
a matching hat. The groom’s
mother chose a yellow silk dress
trimmed with pearls and irri-
descent sequins and a hat of
the same materials. Each wore
a purple orchid corsage.
A supper and dance were
held at Moravian Hall. Kathy
Spiekerman, sister of the groom,
presided at the bride’s register.
Following a wedding trip the
couple will make their home at
College Station.
The bride was graduated from
Mary Carroll High School in Cor-
pus Christi and attended
Del Mar College. The groom
is a graduate of Odem High
School and is attending A&M
College.
More than 75 friends from
Odem and Edroy attended the
wedding.
Mr. and Mrs. John Brown of
E d c o u ch stopped by for a
visit with his uncle, H. H. Brown
and other relatives here Sunday
as they were returning from San
Marcos, where they had taken
their son, Jimmy Brown, to re-
sume his studies at Southwest
Texas State College.
Mrs. A. A. Luekenbach spent
two days in Corpus Christi with
her daughter, Mrs. Barbara Sch-
uster and childrn.
Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Fowler
and Royce Ray and Mr. and Mrs
Terry Reed all of Corpus Christi
were guests in the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Royce Reed Sunday.
Mrs. F. E. Bobbitt and sister,
Miss Eunice Williams visited re-
latives in Odem Sunday as they
were enroute to Woodsboro to vi-
sit Mrs. Bobbitt’s son, Clarence
Bobbitt, and family. They were
to also visit another son of Mrs.
Bobbitt, Travis Bobbitt, and
family in Papalote.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Mack-
land of Taft were greeting fri-
ends in Odem Wednesday.
Mrs. Robert Parker was admi
ted as a surgical patient in a
Sinton hospital. Her condition
was repprted by a member of
her family to be good. She will
be released from the hospital
later this week.
Henry Belyeu, who has been
a medical patient in a Sinton
hospital for several days, was
sent to a Corpus Christi clinic
for further tests Tuesday. He
returned to the Sinton hospital
and was reported ready for dis-
missal this week.
Chad Fox has been released
from Riverside Hospital where
he spent several days because
of a knee injury sustained in
Owl scrimmage. His leg is in a
cast and he will be out of Owl
activities for a few weeks.
Bill Greenwood, who under-
went emergency appendectomy
in Sinton hospital, is at home.
J. L. McNeese has returned
from a trip which took him for
visits with relatives. In Lufkin
he was a guest in the home of
his brother, John McNeese, and
family and in the home of his
sisters, Mrs. Maggie Powell
and Miss Mary Ruth McNeese
in Joaquin. He also visited other
sisters, Mrs. A. M. Bagley in
Carthage and Mrs. Herman
Bagley and Mrs. Buck McMel-
lon in Logansport, La.
