ing which included classroom study
and practical instruction on naval

board and aircraft safety. An

Shared services arrangements
were approved between OEISD and
the Corpus Christi Regional Day
School Program for the Deaf. This
is a cooperative program, designed
to provide a variety of educational
services for eligible students with
auditorial impairments-and will
include centralized instructional
and support services, as well as
audiological management services.
The fiscal agent for the organization
is the Corpus Christi Independent
School District, which is responsible
for the implementation and man-
agement of the program. That dis-
trict manages the administrative
aspects of the program, which is
open to other school districts for
membership. In approving their
participation, OEISD has agreed to
pay $47,069.28 for the 1998-99
school year, which will offset pro-
jected costs above state and federal
allocations. Each member district,
however, is responsible for the
transportation of eligible students
to and from services.
An interagency agreement was
approved by the board of trustees
between the school district special
education program and the San
Patricio County Community Action
Agency Head Start program as well.
This agreement will allow district
students to reach their potential
through services for children with
disabilities. Disabled children,
three to five years of age, are tar-
geted in the program, which offers
services in the following areas:
Child-Find (screening and identifi-
cation); evaluations and referrals;
conduction of comprehensive evalu-
ations; placement procedures; and
resources sharing. The SPCAA will
provide transportation to and from
the OEISD for special education stu-
dents; the district will be responsible
for transporting students who
attend public school on a full-time
basis.
Raul Villasenor, representing
First Southwest Company, presented
information about his organization
to the board during the meeting.
After hearing the presentation of
services, the board voted to accept
First Southwest Company as the
OEISD investment banking
provider.
Finally, the board accepted the
resignation of Business Manager
Susan Ebert, who has accepted an
assistant business manager position
at the Calallen ISD.
