Four Seniors
Four members of the grad-
* uating class, Hilda Aleman, Deb-
bie Fox, Debbie Briscoe and
Juan Sembrano were honored
with a beach party at Port
• Aransas Saturday afternoon.
Hosts were their parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Albert Aleman, Mr.
and Mrs. J. E. Fox, Mr. and
Mrs. Blake Briscoe and Mr.
and Mrs. Juan Sembrano.
They went surfing and swim-
ming before a picnic supper
was served. Approximately 40
guests attended the party.
Marriage Performed
At Local Church
Mrs. Hope McDonald and Joe
Orlando of Aransas Pass were
united in marriage at Park Ave-
nue Church of Christ parsonage
Wednesday evening. John Good-
win officiated.
Mr. and Mrs. Orlando will
make their home in Aransas
Pass.
Here From College
Miss Samelia Boyd and her
roomate at Baylor University,
Miss Judy Ryan of Garland,
spent the weekend here with
Miss Boyd’s parents, Mr. and
Mrs. J. E. Boyd, Jr. They were
joined here Sunday by Miss
Rayan’s father and the two
ladies and their fathers went
fishing in the Bayside area early
Sunday morning.

Millers Move Here 1
From California
. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Miller and
Calvin and Wanda arrived from
tyEarysville, Calif., Sunday to
again make their home here.
Miller has completed a second
enlistment in the U.S. Air Force
He spent one year in Vietnam.
He is the son of Mrs. Charlie
Curtiss and he' and his family
are visiting in the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Curtiss until they
can find living quarters.
LOCALS
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Shack-
elford spent Friday and Saturday
in San Marcos and Austin.
Mrs. A. H. Voss returned
Friday from Jonesville, Va.,
where she had visited her mo-
ther, Mrs. Mae Gibson, and
other relatives in that area. She
was met in San Antonio by her
husband, Dr. Voss, who was at-
tending a convention of the
Texas Medical Association. The
couple visited .with their daugh-
ter, Miss Donna Voss, while in
San Antonio.

Feted Saturday
At Party Here
Lee Cramer, senior at Sinton
High School, was honored with
a party Saturday afternoon in
the home of his sister, Mrs.
Robert Whatley. Assisting with
hostess duties were her mother
Mrs. Allyne Cramer, and her
sisters, Mrs. John Ross of
Woodsboro and Miss Ruth Cra-
mer.

made up the entertainment. Re-

Senior Boys
Are Honorees
At Party Sun.
Kim Janicke, senior in Odem
High School, and Lee Cramer,
senior in Sinton High School,
were honorees at a skiing party
and chicken barbecue given at
Lake Mathis Sunday afternoon
by Gary Stalcup and his parents.
Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Stalcup.
Twenty guests from Odem and
Sinton attended. Adults present
were Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Jan-
icke, Mr. and Mrs. Robert What-
ley, Mr. znd Mrs. C. L. West
and Mr. and Mrs. Stalcup.
Scout
News
Troop 35 of the Boy Scouts of
America presented a program
in the junior high school audi-
torium May 1 under the direction
of Scoutmaster Stan Webb.
The entire troop participated
in a flag ceremony in which
the history of the flag was given.
The flags displayed were Queen
Anne’s, Flag of 1818, Grand
Union Star-Spangled Banner and
the Betsy Ross Flag.
Marshall Quinn spoke on the
subject, “Howi does the Flag
(Feel’’ Charles Schibi offered
the prayer based on the 12 points
of Scout law. Darrell Burditt
lead the audience in singing
God Bless America and Oswald-
do Moreno sounded Taps in tri-
bute to all those who have given
their lives in the cause of free-
dom.The Scoutmaster gave a
stirring speech in which the
word FREEDOM was spelled
out.
Members of Troop 35 partici-
pating in the program were
Marshall Quinn, Jesse Bownds,
Sammy Parker, Larry Balusek,
James Lovett, Pete Pennington,
Steve Akin, Harold Martin,
Eugene Just, Ben Voorhees, Os-
waldo Moreno, Raunel Boga-
IVIiss Alberta Poe of Balmorhea
will marry Hal Sculi, former
Odem resident, on May 26 at
the Catholic Church in Baimor-
hea.
Williams Are Back
From Northern Trip
Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Williams
returned Monday from a trip
which took them for visits with
relatives in Dallas, Chicago and
Albion, Mich.
They drove their car to Dallas
and spent several days visiting
their son, Ernest Williams, and
family and other relatives. From
Dallas they made a leisurely
trip to Chicago in their younger
son’s car which they took to
him in Chicago. Enroute they
did sightseeing in the Ozark Mts.
They spent four days in Chicago
with their son, James Williams.
They went fey plane from Chi-
cago to Albion where they visited
her sister and husband, Dr. and
Mrs. A. W. Mink, for three days.
They returned to Dallas by
plane Friday.
They left Dallas for Odem late
Sunday afternoon and arrived
home after midnight. The wea-
ther was lovely throughout the
entire trip with only one rainy
day.
LOCALS
Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Taber of
Corpus Christi and Mrs. Carrie
Fuqua of Portland have been
making daily visits to be at the
bedside of their mother, Mrs.
Mary Boggus, who is a patient
in a Sinton hospital.
Mrs. Bert Walker has been
with her brother, Jimmy
Emerson, who is a patient in a
Corpus Christi hospital.
