West Sinton Church Celebrates Anniversary
The morning of November 28, 1948 was a cool blustery day,
but one of excitement and praise. On that morning, fifty years
ago, the members of Trinity Lutheran Church West Sinton dedi-
cated their new church building.
Worship services were first held in the West Sinton
Community in 1915 in the homes of members and conducted by
Rev. P. Hansen of Kingsville. Later, services were held in the old
Adams School Building across the street from the present church
site (the corner of FM 630 and FM 796). The congregation for-
mally organized in 1936, and on November 24, 1947, they
resolved to erect a house of worship. It was dedicated one year
later on November 28, 1948.
On Sunday, November 29, Trinity Lutheran Church will be cel-
ebrating the 50th anniversary of the dedication of the church
building. The day will begin with a fellowship hour at 9:30 and
be followed by the special anniversary worship service at 10:30
that will re-create the original service of dedication with a few
additions.
After the worship service, the congregation will host a lun-
cheon open to all, followed by a devotion and songfest. Many
members who have moved out of the area are "returning home"
for this special celebration.
All are invited to this special service of thanks and praise; for
more information, call Rev. Brian Cummins at 364-2367.

Depredation in the Raw Frontier."
While the book covers the war, it
