Miss Goodwin Marries
Richard M. Humes, Jr.
Mary Elinor Goodwin and Richard
Morrow Humes, Jr., both of Fort
Worth, pledged double ring nupital
vows in St. Andrew’s Episcopal
Church in Fort Worth on October 1,
with the Rev. John W. Hildebrand of-
ficiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Donald Wray Goodwin of
Fort Worth. The groom’s parents
are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Morrow
Humes, Sr., also of Fort Worth.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore an ivory gown of
satin, featuring a sweetheart
neckline with beaded bodice and
long satin sleeves with appliqued
cut-outs at the elbows. The back of
the bodice was of sheer illusion,
covered with lace. The catherdral-
length train had lace runners exten-
ding from the wasteline, with lace
appliques with large pearl centers
and was highlighted with iridescent
sequins.
Her headpiece was a crown of silk
flowers with loops and cascades of
beads, and finger-tip length illusion
decorated with pearls.
She carried a bouquet of ivory
cymbidium orchids with lavender
throats, bridal ivory roses, ivory
lilies and English ivy.
Miriam Elise Goodwin of Fort
Worth, twin sister of the bride, at-
tended as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Susan Elaine
Goodwin of Fort Worth, sister of the
bride, and Elizabeth Humes Gayle,
sister of the groom, also of Fort Wor-
th.
They wore periwinkle taffeta
gowns,featuring ballerina-length
full skirts, dropped gathered
waistbands with matching gathered
bands across off-the-shoulder
necklines and sleeves with several
small gathered puffs just below the
shoulder.
Kevan Dean Western of Keller
served as best man. Groomsmen
were David Frank Garcia of Arl-
ington and James Kyle Gayle,
brother-in-law of the groom, of Fort
Worth.
Ushers were Rick Brown of
Mathis, Dicky Brown of San Marcos,
Fred Prochaska of College Station
and Glenn Pollard of Fort Worth.
A reception was held at Moncrief
Hall.
The four-layer bride’s cake was
decorated with fresh flowers and
English ivy. The groom’s cake was a
two-layer dark chocolate cake,
decorated with chocolate-dipped
fresh strawberries. The tables were
draped in white and decorated with
fresh flowers.
Following a wedding trip to the
Virgin Islands, the couple will reside
in Fort Worth.
