Coronado-Flores
Exchange Vows
Linda D. Coronado and
T. Flores were joined in
matrimony at 3 p.m. Saturday, April
5,1986.
The ceremony was performed by
Father Henry Heese at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church. .
The church was decorated with
big white bows and white flowers
with greenery surrounding the
place.
The bride was given in marriage
by her grandparents Mr. and Mrs.
Domingo J. DeLeon of Mathis.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Francisco Flores of Mathis.
The bride wore a floor length dress
fashioned with lace and white satin,
a Victorian neckline and decorated
with white pearls and a four foot
train with ruffles all around with
pearls. She wore pearl earrings and
she carried a bouquet of white
flowers and greenery white ribbons.
A reception followed the ceremony
with approximately 75 guest atten-
ding.
The couple were then feted with a
dance at Cielito Lindo Dance Hall
with music by Lluvia Band.
The bride is a graduate -of Mathis
High School and the groom is a 1982
graduate of Mathis High School and
a graduate of Bee County College.
The couple will reside in Aransas
Pass.

home from the hospital Friday. We
wish her a real speedy recovery.
Babe and Joe Moravek made a
trip to Corpus Christi on Monday.
Joe went to his eye doctor for a
check-up and Babe did some shopp-
ing.

Honored With Wine
And Cheese Party
A wine and cheese party honoring,
the bride to be, Kimberly Maedgen,
and bride-groom elect, Stephen
^jHsite was held in Odessa on April
^Pl986.
The occasion was held in the home
of Jack and Marian Murray. Co-
hostess for the event was Fayette
and Dee Griffin and Wayne and
Joann Jones.
The serving table was centered
with an arrangement of iris, carna-
tions, and columbine and flanked
with apricot colored tapers. Finger
foods consisting of fresh fruits,
various cheeses and crackers, ham
puffs, nuts and an assorted tray of
sweets were served.
Guests were greeted at the door by
Jack and Marian Murray, Kimbrely
Maedgen and Stephen White.
Attending from Mathis were Mr.
and Mrs. Malcolm Maedgen, Jr. and
Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Maedgen, Sr.

Janet and Gene Dittlinger spent
the weekend with their son, Jerry
and family, in Bay City.
Mr. and Mrs. Oris Gipson of Alice
spent the weekend with Mr. and
Mrs. Bob Hoegerl.
Bethel Green returned on Monday
from Ranger, Texas. Bethel took her
father, J.W. Wood, to his family reu-
nion there.
Mr. Vestal is home after a stay in
the hospital and doing real fine.
Betty Benoit, along with seveal
other women, drove to Corpus
Christi, Thursday. They attended
the Christian Women’s luncheon at
the Marriott Hotel. They all enjoyed
the luncheon and program and style
show.
City secretary Mary Sarate and
tax collector Alice Garcia attended
tax education classes recently and
passed their examinations with'
outstanding results.
Mary passed the first of eight
courses with a grade of 98. Alice
passed her third of eight classes with
a grade of 92.
The classes, held in Corpus
Christi, will enable Mary and Alice
to become Registed Tax Assessors
with the Texas Association of
Assessing Officers. Examinations
are sponsored by the Board of Tax
Professionals.
The next session will deal with the
market approach to tax assessment
and will be held in Corpus Christi in
May.
The Coastal Bend Genealogical
Society will meet at 2 p.m. May 10 at
the Educational Service Center at
209 N. Water St. in Corpus Christi.
Registration and refreshments
are scheduled for the first half hour,
with the meeting and program star-
ting at 2:30.
The program concerns
genealogical research in
Washington, D.C. Mrs. Mary
Rabalais will discuss research in the
D.A.R. Library, Mrs. Elaine Rix-
chardson will discuss research in the
National Genealogical Society
Library, Mrs. Jean Reed will
discuss research in the Library of
Congress and Mrs. Maurine Hudson

will discuss research in the National
Archives.
The society invites everyone to at-
tend.
The 42nd annual Fiesta Zaragoza
will be held this weekend at the
Goliad Memorial Auditorium and on
May 5 at the Presidio La Bahia Am-
phitheatre and at the Zaragoza
Plaza.
There will be dances, food booths,
mariachis, bailes folkloricos, barbe-
que, arts and crafts, and a cantina.
Activites run from 10 a.m. to 1
p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on
Sunday. Sunday, there will be a field
mass at 10:30 a.m. at the Am-
phitheatre, with the Most Rev.
Bishop Charles A. Grahmann of-
ficiating.
Larry and Sarah Stapp have been
enjoying the tropical sunshine in
Kauai, Hawaii courtesy of Larry’s
employer.
Larry won the sales incentive trip
by increasing his sales volume by a
specified amount during a 12-month
contest.
He has been with the company
since October 1983.
We are sure the Stapps had a good
time in Hawaii, and the next time we
see them, we are going to make
them tell us all about it.
MARRIAGE APPROACHES--Calvin Weiss of Mathis and Mr. and
Mrs. Steve Williams announce the engagement and approaching mar-
riage of their daughter, Shawn, to Dennis Satre, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Duane Satre of Arlington. Shawn is a junior accounting major at the
University of Texas at Arlington and is employed at Texas Commerce
Bank in Arlington. Dennis is a civil engineering graduate from the
University of Texas at Arlington and is employed with Albert H. Halff
Associates of Dallas. A June 14,wedding is planned in Arlington. After
a honeymoon in Cancun, the coyple will be at home in Euless.
