Wren Family Holds
4th Annual Reunion
Tuscon, Arizona; Leonard L. Wren
of Orange Grove; Charles L. Wren of
Mathis; Daisy (Wren) Everett of
Alice and Louise (Wren) Jones
(absent) of DeQuincy, La.
Leonard was also recongized as
being the oldest person attending.
Drawings were held for several
door prizes that were offered. In ad-
dition to eating the delicious meal
that was served, time was spent
visiting with relatives and reminisc-
ing.
It was decided that an ‘87 Wren
reunion would be held. Daisy
Everett and Louise Jones
volunteered to host the event.
This year, ninety guests were pre-
sent.
The fourth annual Wren family
reunion was held June 14 at the
Lagarto Community Center. Many
of the Wrens call Lagarto their “old
home place.”
The little red school house (now
torn down) and the old Lagarto
school house (now the Lagarto Com-
munity Center) hold many fond, and
a few, not so fond, memories for the
Wren generation.
Joseph E. Wren was one of the
builders of the school house. He and
his wife, Frances (Gressett) Wren
are buried in the Lagarto Cemetery.
Special recognition, in the form of
corsages, was given to their surviv-
ing children; Jim Wren (absent) of
