ALBERT NESLONEY
HELD WEDNESDAY
* SANDIA (Sp) — Last rites for
Albert Ed Nesloney, 46, Orange
Grove oilfield worker, were held
Wednesday morning in the Orange
Grove Catholic Church.
Rev. Engelbert Bartosch.
of Mathis officiated. Burial in
the Orange Grove Cemetery was
conducted by Dobie Funeral Home
of Mathis.
Mr Nesloney was an uncle of
Mrs, Woodrow Williford of San-
dia. A resident of Orange Grove
28 years, he had farmed in the
Orange Grove community until
(four years ago when he went to
work m the oil fields.
He died in the Mathis Hospital
I M°nday He was critically injur-
edTu^day of last week when he
tell from a drilling rig in the OI-
mos community, near Tynan.
Survivors include the wife of
Orange Grove; two daughters
Mrs. Frank Gregorcyk and Mab^I
Nesloney, both of Orange Grove-
four brothers, Henry, Walter!
Charley and Tom Nesloney, all of
Kobstown; a stepsister, Mrs. Fred
Krause of Orange Grove; and two
grandchildren.

Nelson of Mathis has been named
secretary of the Baptist Student
Union and student council repres-
entative of the junior class at
the University of Corpus Christ,
m recent elections. She is a
junior music major.
John S. Nelson, Betty’s broth-
named vice president of

at the University. He is a senior-
business major.
Ninfa Benitez, also of Mathis
was named literature chairman of
the Young Women’s Auxiliary at
T?£*Un-1VerSity in recent elections.

SOCIAL SECURITY ACT
EXPLAINED

plaining the old-age and surviv-
ors insurance provisions of the
new Social Security Act.)
G. Retirement and family in-
surance payments are made to re-
tired workers after they are 65;
lor their children, (also step-child-
ren and adopted children) until
they are 18; to mothers, at any
they have a chhd who is en
titled to the payments; and, to
wlXes a«er they are 65 years old.
H. Monthly family insurance
payments are made to the surviv-
ors of an insured worker who
dies. The payments are for de-
pendent children (also step-child-
ren and adopted children) until
they are 18: to mothers, at any
age, who have a child of a de-
ceased worker who is entitled to
payments if the mother was liv-
ing with or dependent upcn the
worker when he died; and, to the
widow when she is age 65 if she
does not remarry, if no child or
widow, who could become entitled
to the payments, survives, a de-
pendent parent may qualify at.
age 65.
I. The dependent husbands or
widowers of retired or deceased
women workers may qualify for
monthly payments under some
conditions.
J. The new law makes pro-
visions for a lump sum death pav
ment in addition to the monthly
benefits. It is paid to the surviv-
ing spouse, or if none lived to
qualify, to the person who pays
the burial expenses.
