MARRIES SATURDAY — Sarah Frances Munsell (above), daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Frank Munsell of Jasper, will be mar-
ried to William C. Hollingsworth, local CP&L cashier, in Jasper
at 6:30 p. m. Saturday. The ceremony will be performed by Dr.
George Baker, chaplain of Southern Methodist University, at the
First Methodist Church. Both the bride and groom are graduates
of SMU. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Robert
Hollingsworth of Edna.

RODEO DISCUSSED
BY BAND PARENTS
Mrs. Gus Mengers presided at
the Band Parents meeting this
week in the absence of the presi-
dent, Mrs. Chas. Brown.
Mrs. W. A. Jennings, Jr., was in
charge of the program. She pre-
sented Joanne Salge in a piano
solo “Narcissus” and Norma and
JoAnn Jennings in a clarinet duet
“Near the Cross.”
Plans for the carnival and for
the trip to the Beeville rodeo were
made.
Mrs. Mengers announced that,
the Mathis Band has been invited
to play all Monday afternoon at
the Beeville rodeo, because the
Mathis Band was last year chos-
en as the “best playing band” in
the rodeo.
MRS. CRENSHAW HAS
BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY
Mrs. E. J. Crenshaw was named
honor guest at a surprise birthday
anniversary party given Tuesday
afternoon by Mrs. P. W. Krager
at the Krager home.
Gifts were presented the hcn-
oree and sandwiches, cookies, po-
tato chips, and punch were serv-
ed to members of the Tuesday
Canasta Club and other friends of
the honoree.
Present were Mrs. A. B. Cobb,
Mrs. J. W. Simmons, Mrs. Jess
Stone, Mrs. Marion Clements,
Mrs. Fred Brown, Mrs. Max Pipes,
Mrs. Joe Brown, Mrs. Percy Hart-
mann, Mrs. Bill Koepsel, Mrs. Sid
Ferrell, Mrs. Hy Mussman, Mrs.
Crenshaw and Mrs. Krager.

had as their guests at supper Tues
day night, their son and daughter-
in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Mc-
Anally of Alice, and their daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Pratt and sons, Jackie, Cy,
and Tor, of Corpus Christi.
The occasion was Mr. McAnally's
birthday anniversary.

SCENE OF PARTY
Mrs. W. C. Humble and Mrs.
Jerome Braunstein entertained at
the Braunstein home on Tuesday
night at a buffet supper' honoring;
husbands of members of the Bun-
co Club.
Hallowe’en decorations, orange
and gold colored tapers, and col-
ored chrysanthemums decorated
the table from which the guests
\vere served. The menu featur-
ed baked chicken and dressing.
HALLOWE’EN PARTY
HELD BY STUDENTS
Wanda Humble, Mary Wade
Westover, and Carolyn Boggus en-
tertained for a group of high
school students at a Hallowe’en
party at the hall on the Catholic
grounds Saturday night. Sancl-
'wiches, cookies, and punch were
served to 14 guests.
Assisting with the party were
Mrs. W. C. Humble, Mrs. B. M.
'Westover and Mrs. Roy Boggus.
Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Krager and
their guests, Mr. and Mrs. A. H.
Wood of Waco, spent Saturday in
Corpus Christi sightseseing.

They saw the Ice Follies of 1951;

and the Planetarium,
j Leaving Chicago at 11 a.m. one
day, they arrived in San Antonio
at 12 noon the next day, riding the
Texas Eagle from St. Louis to
San Antonio.
