Dew Memorial Library During March
The Library Board met In
session March 27, at
8:30 a. m , In the Commission-
ers’ Court Room. Minutes of
February jneetlng were read
and accepted and the library
report from the librarian was
read and accepted and filed In
the usual manner.
Those present for the meet-
ing were, president Mrs. Joe
Palmer, treasurer Mrs. G. C.
Head, secretary, Mrs. John Hes-
ter, reporter Mrs. D. A. Trent,
Library Board members. Judge
Cecil Eger and W. C. Barnett.
Three books were received
this month from the publishers.
They are, "Southern Belle,” by
Sinclair, "Patrick J. Hurley” by
Lohbeck. and "Masters of De-
ceit” by J. Edgar Hoover.
Another collection of Ele-
mentary books were loaned to
Muilln 8chool this month. Last
month the loan was to Goldth-
walte High School.
Out of town visitors have
visited the library this month
and the Board Is always very
glad to show the library plant.

Hazel Bradford gave a very In-
formative program on the his-
tory and present day affairs of
the Library, to the Art and
Civic Club recently.
Total check out of books this
month were 844. 299 for adults
and 345 for children.
Twenty-two memorial books
have been given to the library
this month, and some of the
reference books that were ord-
ered have been received. Also
several used books’ have been
given.

Spring Is In the air — flowers
are blooming. It's the time of
year when chUdren look for-
ward to Easter and their new
clothes, a tangible symbol to
them of the season their elders
celebrate with spiritual rejoic-
ing.
Everyone loves to see little
chUdren all dressed up In their
Easter clothes. So, once again
this year the Art and Civic Club
Is sponsoring the Easter Parade
for pre-school children. The
Parade wUl take place on Wed-
nesday, AprU 18, at 4:15 p. m„
at the High School Auditorium.
Advance tickets will be on sale.
This wUl be the fourth annual
Easter Parade sponsored by the
Art and Civic Club. Each year
there are some new pre-school-

Eldora Louise Edmondson, to

Sanderson, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Ele Hagelstein of Ozona.
The bride-elect Is a graduate
of Muilln High School and at-
tended Tarleton State College
and Sul Ross State College.
The prospective groom is a
graduate of Ozona High School
and attended East Texas State
Teachers College and Sul Ross
State College.
The wedding wUl be held
April 21 In the Muilln Metho-
dist Church.
AH friends and relatives are

New home of the couple will
be in Sanderson.

Elects Officers

The Junior Bach Club met in
the basement of the Methodist
Church Monday afternoon. April
2, at 7 o’clock. Charlotte Dalton
called the meeting to order. The
following new oflicers were
elected:
President, Mary Ann Corona;
vice president, Debbie Lang-
ford; secretary, Susan Lang-
ford; treasurer, Melissa Mc-
Lean; and reporter, Charlotte
Dalton. |
We played our pieces and
they were all very lovely. The
pre-school children sang their
song. Refreshments were served.
Ten parents were present.

Star 4-H Club
Meets March 2'6>j

The Star Food and Nutrition
group met March 26, at the Star
Homemaking Room. The mem-
bers were all present. They are
as follows;
Ella Ruth Clary, Sandra Alex-
ander, Patsy Carswell, Melba
Seward, Troy Alexander, Bobby
Burns, Larry Alexander, Vicki
Jeske, and our leader, Mrs. Gil-
bert Jeske.
We made tuna fish sandwich-
es, butter bread sandwiches and
banana milk. We divided into
tvto groups and divided' the
sandwiches among ourselves.
We had lots of fun.
Our meetings will be every
two weeks. The next meeting
will be AprU 9, 1962.

Club Meets Friday
The Goldthwalte H. D. Club
met Friday afternoon at the
Youth Center with Mrs. Lpyd
Reynolds and Mrs. H. J. Leon-
hard hostesses.
Mrs. Nelson Waggoner gave
the opening and Mrs. Ruby Roat
president, presided at the busi-
ness meeting.
Mrs. Rachel B. Trent, the
agent, brought the program on
"Appropriate Dress and Acces-
sories.” Mrs. Leonhard was in
charge of the recreation period.
After the program the hos-
tesses served refreshments of
coffee, punch and cookies to
twenty members.
Next meeting will be April 10,
at 2 o'clock at the Youth Center.
Mrs. Stacy McCasland and Mrs.
Ruby Ross will be hostesses. The
program will be on Lawns.

Miss Linda Featherston will
be presented In an organ and
piano recital by her teachers,
Mrs. Sam Sullivan and Mrs.
Thurman Head. The recital will
be held In the First Methodist

8, at 3:00 o'clock.

Make Dressings
For Cancer Patients
Mrs. Roy Simpson, Service
Committee Chairman of the
American Cancer Society, met
with a group or ladies of the
Center City community March
28, to assist them In making
cancer dressings. The meeting
was held In the Fellowship Hall
of the Methodist Church and
147 dressings were completed
