BUGGY RIDING.
“Suppose,” said he, in accents soft,
“ A felloe, just like me,
Should axle iittle girl to wed—
What would the answer be?
The maiden drops her liquid eyes—
Her smiles with blushes mingle—
“ Why seek the bridal halter when
You may live on, sur, cingle!”
And then he spoke—“Oh, be my bride,
I ask you once again;
You are the empress of my soul,
And there shall ever rein.
“Ill never tire of kindly deeds
To win you gentle heart,
And saddle be the shaft that rends
Our happy lives apart!”
Upon her cheeks the maiden felt
The mantling blushes glow—
She took him her faithful hub—
To share his wheel or whoa.

Publicly “Pulled.”
We saw a lady pull a gentlemans nose
yesterday in front of Evan's & Martin’s
dry goods store, He quietly stood still
and let her work it to her heart’s content.
No one nose what danger threatens him
when in the presence of fair females.
But this thing of having yourselt “pulled”
in public insn’t calculated to soothe one’s
amiabilty. Is it Chas.?
DEPOT HOTS,
A prominent third warder was reckless
enough to wager a pair of boots, that Col.
Olin Wellborn’s opponent for congress on
the Greenback ticket, would carry a ma-
jority of the votes in Tarrant county.
Bye, bye, Boots.
A team ran away with an empty lumber
wagon, and circulated around the third
ward at a tremendous gate, last evening
and after running clear out of wind came
to a dead halt, ip front of a small frame
residence east of the old compress. No
body hurt. The owner’s name was Frank-
lin, of Johnson county.

PENCIL POINTS.
The Greenbackers are going to get out
what they call a “liberal ticket,” with the
names of all the candidates in each politi-
cal faction, as well as a straight G. B. tick
et, They don’t think they’ve been treated
right by not being allowed a place on the
Democratic ticket.
The business men of Dallas have signed
a petition, asking that the quarantine reg-
ulations be raised.
Quarantine regulations have been raised
at Sherman. Bounce them all over the
state, is the wish of every one, Galveston
excepted.
