Malcolm Johnson Visits Family
Malcolm Johnson, who is
serving as administrator of
P&S Hospital in Yreka, Calif,
and P&S Hospital in Corpus
Christi came in as far as San
Antonio Friday where he was
met by his wife to bring him on
to Corpus Christi for a few
hours of duty in the hospital
office there.

session, a fellowship hour was

Whiteley, Mrs. Ada Mayo, Mrs.
Kenneth Shackelford, Mrs.

Bible Study

Missionary Union met in the
church annex for Bible study at
9:30 a.m. Tuesday with Mrs.
^ Frank Oelschlegel as Bible
instructor.
Mrs. A.N. Thompson Jr.
president of the WMU presided
in the opening exercises.
Coffee and apple strudel were
served at the conclusion of the
study.

The regular meeting of the
Ladies Auxiliary to Veterans of
Foreign Post 8916 met in the
home of Mrs. Theda Welch
Tuesday night of last week.

the Auxiliary voted to send a
donation to the Memoriap.
Chapel in Austin, with the
donation to be sent in honor of
Mrs. Jean Curtiss, and a key to
the Chapel being sent to Mrs.
Curtiss. The key was received
this week. »Each year the
auxiliary makes a donation
and honors a member with a
key.

The Burnetts and Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Whitley drove to
Corpus Christi for a seafood
dinner. Mrs. John T. Whitley
babysat with the five young
boys and reports that she had a
hilarious time entertaining
them.
Burnett is a former resident
of Odem, having lived here
during the eight years his
father, the Rev. L. M. Burnett,
served as pastor of First
Baptist Church.

came over to Odem Sunday
afternoon for visit with their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam
Johnson.
Johnson took a 6 a.m. flight
out of Corpus Christi Friday
morning to return to his duties
at the hospital in Yreka.
