LOON
Once upon a time there was
a pretty savvy loon. He bought
a new Mercury every year.
One day his feathered friends
were hovering around giving
him the bird. "How come?”
they asked. Our boy replied,
"Get in tune, loons. Mercury
has everything: size, power,
roominess, solid comfort, style
and low cost. Mercury's a boon
to a loon!”
moral: Fly over to your
Mercury dealer soon. The Per
formance Champion can be yours
at a price that’s under 42 models
of "low-price 3” cars.

BOOST AND LIFT
The district meeting of the Na-
I tional Council of Catholic Women
Wed March 15th
By J. C. Watkins. Pastor
First Baptist Church
Keep thy tongue from evil, and
thy lips from speaking guile.
Psalms 34:13
let another man praise thee,
and thine own mouth: a stranger,
and not thine own lips.
Prov. 27:2
Judge not that ye be not
Judged. Mat. 7il
Don’t knock. It is easy to knock,
but it is harder to lift. A child
can push a big man off a pier
into the water but it takes
strength to pull him out.
Some people are always find-
ing fault with others. Spreading
vicious gossip that will drag some
one’s good name in the dirt. If
they see excellencies in others
they seldom speak of them, but
corstantly talk about their short
comings. Much, of this criticism
is prompted by jealousy and ig-
norance, and a mean disposition.
Most of us are guilty at times
of saying things which should be
kept to ourselves. The wise man
doesn’t believe all he reads and
hears, and when it comes to gos-
sip. a good way is to let it go in
one ear and out the other. Better
still, turn a deaf ear to it. We all
have our faults, some more, some
less, and we want to overcome
them: hut they can’t be overcome
by talking about the faults of
others.
It is always better to think good
than to think evil.
