miles south of the Nadine Road on
County Road 347 southwest of

bitten by a dog in the alley in the 300
block of Southwest 11th Street.

argument was taking place between
a female and male subject.
Faculty of the school told officers
the male subject had been told to stay
off school property before the
incident Police removed the subject
from school property and a report
was taken.

police that a subject was in
possession of a Social Security card
that appeared to be a forgery.
Officers confirmed the card was
forged and arrested Manuel Zamuido
Rios. 25, of 204 NE 2nd Street for
tampering with a governmental

a two-vehicle accident in the 700
Mock of South Main.
Investigators said both a 1995
GMC van, driven by Elola Conner,
30,of718NW3rdStreetandal990
Buick,driven by Edna Wood, 81, of
RL 3, Box 79, were headed south on
Main, with the Wood vehicle behind
the Conner vehicle.
Officers said the van stopped to
turn in to a business and was struck
in the rear by the Buick, resulting in
moderate to heavy damage to both
vehicles. Wood was cited for
following too closely.

Firefighters stood by and assisted at
the scene of a motor vehicle accident
six miles west of Seminole.
Quitters
Seminole Police are currently investigating two burglaries of storage
buildings.
The first occurred Dec. 31 between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 3:30p.m.
at the mini-rental storage buildings in the 100 block of Northwest Avenue
B. Ten cf the storage units had locks cut off and taken were a Shop Vac vacuum,
a 50-foot air hose, a motor stand, a cherry picker and a power welding kit
The second burglary occurred at the storage rental buildings in the 400
block of NorthMain between 3:00p.m. Jan. 2 and 7:00 p.m. Jan. 5. Twelve ___________„____v____

month at the Gaines County Civic
Seminole Police are currently investigating the burglary of a residence
in the southwest part of Seminole.
The burglary occurred between Feb. 1 and7,1999. A person or persons
unknown forced entry into the residence through a sliding glass door.
Investigators believe a screwdriver or similar instrument was used. There
was a significant amount of property taken, including electronic equipment,
jewelry, and an assortment of tools. Some of the items the police are looking
for are, a Hitachi VCR, Compac Presario computer and printer, Sony Play
Station, Emerson microwave, Kenwood home stereo and an assortment
of Snap-On tools.
Anyone having information on these burglaries should contact Gaines
County Crime Line. Information leading to the arrest of the person or persons
involved in the burglaries could be worth up to a $1,000 reward. Persons
giving information may remain anonymous.
Crime Line will pay up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to
the arrest and/or indictment of the person or persons responsible for committing
an offense.
Good infonnation needs to be offered, but the persons offering the information
do not have to identify themselves.

The weather across the Texas South Plains during the month of
February, 1999 was warmer and drier than norma. This was the third
driest February on record dating back to 1955 and 1936.
Temperatures averaged 6.9 degrees above normal.
Maximum temperatures averaged 9.4 degrees above normal. The
highest temperature reported during the month was 86 degrees at
Spur on the 10th.
Minimum temperatures averaged 4.4 degrees above normal. The
lowest temperature reported during the month was 14 degrees at
several stations on the South Plains.
Precipitation averaged .64 inches below normal across the South
Plains.
