County eligible
for business
loan program
Gaines County is one of 29
counties in Texas to become
eligible to use one of the most
popular federal business loan
programs.
The county, along with
neighboring counties Andrews,
Dawson, Ector, Crane, Howard,
Martin, Midland, Pecos, Reagan,
Reeves, Ward, and Winkler, are
now in line to be included in the
Capital Certified Development
Corporation, which makes
expansion capital available to
small businesses.
According to Cathy Bonner,
executive director of the Texas
Department of Commerce, the
Capital CDC is a non-profit
corporation that will serve small
businesses statewide not
currently being served by other
CDC’s.
More information can be
obtained by contacting Armando
Ruiz at the Texas Department of
Commerce’s office of business
finance, 521-320-9649.
