Memorial services for Charles V.
McKean of Baytown will be held at 3
p.m. Friday, af Trinily Episcopal

officiating.
McKean, a 30-year residenl of
Baylown, died Tuesday in a Houston
hospital. He was a 1933 graduate of
ihe Rice Institute, and a registered
professional engineer who retired
from Exxon. Most of his years of ser-
vice were spent in mechanical
engineering at (he Baytown refinery.
He was also a member of Ihe
Houston Yacht Club and Trinity
Episcopal Church in Baylown.
He is survived by his wi/e, Mar-
jorie Hinzie McKean of Baytown;
daughter and son-in-law, Martha and
Richard P. Wright of Houston;
grandsons, Charles Richard Wright
and Duncan Elliot Wright, both of
Houston; brother, Hugh R. McKean
of Bonita Springs, Fla.; brother,
Jerry G. McKean of Aukland, New
Zealand; and sisters, Irene McKean
and Inez McKean Sauby, both of
Minneapolis, Minn.
Many nieces and nephews also sur-
vive.
The family will receive visitors
from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at
EarthmanBaylownChapel. <
In lieu of usual rememberances,
the family requests that contributions
be made lo the Trinily Endowmenf
Fund, or Rice University, or a charily

She was an active member of First

Mrs. Welch is survived by her son,
William L. Welch of Plano;
daughters, Vera Jean Rice of
Houston and Susan Thorne of Lake
Jackson; sister, Jean Hack of
Oklahoma City, Okla.; seven grand-
children; and four great-
grandchildren.
