Lady Owls Vie For Play-Off Spot
Varsity Squad To Take On West Oso To Continue Play
A possible third seat play-off
spot may be for the takings of the
Odem Lady Owls as they finish dis-
trict competition tied with the West
Oso Lady Bears.
The two teams have battled it
out on the court with each other
with this season and will get one
more chance as they face each
other this Saturday, Feb. 13, at
Sinton High School.
In their pursuit to continue
play the Lady Owls began last week-
end with a 51-46 win over the
Sinton Lady Pirates Friday.
The varsity squad started the
evening out slow finishing the first
quarter down 9-7 to their district
rivals. Things only got worse in the
second quarter as the Lady Pirates
gained a 22-15 spread over Odem
before halftime.
Coming back onto the court for
the second half, Shelia Graves came
alive sinking 11 points, six of which
came off of free throws, for the
team to narrow Sinton's lead by
only one point.
Graves once again went on a
shooting frenzy in the forth quarter
putting in another 11 points as the
Lady Owls improved their district
record to 5-3.
"This is a big rivalry and they
have a great team," head coach Ray
Cardona said. "We had a good sec-

of it with a win."
