ian Athletic League state tournament play-offs in San Angelo. They
did not receive a trophy, but Coach Michelle Calcote said that the
team received valuable experience from their first-time state com-

Award” for Oct. 29.
DRAMA DEPARTMENT
The drama department,
headed by Mr. Travis Poe, has
selected cast members for their
next performance, “Steel Mag-
nolias.” Playing the role of
M’Lynn will be Kristin Boeker,
Stephanie Heller as Shelby,
Susan Martin as Quiser, Suzan-
ne Carroll as Clairee, Maggie
Barclay as Truvy and Katie
Manuel will be Annelle. Two
performances are being planned
for Dec. 10 and 11.
CROSS COUNTRY
The B.H. boys and girls cross
country teams competed Satur-
day at the district meet in
Liberty. The girls came out with
a first-place win, and the boys
came out with a second-place
finish. Both teams will advance
to the regional meet which will
be held at San Jacinto College
on Saturday, Nov. 6.
DEBATE
The BH debate team will
participate in another tourna-
ment on Friday and Saturday,
Nov. 5 and 6 at McCullough
High School in Conroe. They
are working very hard this year
to prepare for district competi-
tion.
JUNIOR CLASS
The junior class has been
diligently working to raise
money for their senior prom.
Last week, they took carnation
orders for 50 cents to be deliv-
ered to “that someone special”
on Friday. Their idea to “Buy a
carnation for your Punkin” went
over well. Everyone enjoyed it
so much, the juniors plan to
repeat the sale at upcoming
holidays.
CAP AND GOWN ORDERS
Seniors will meet Nov. 9 for a
presentation on invitations and
cap and gowns. Orders will be
taken during both lunches in the
cafeteria on Thursday, Nov. 11,
and Friday, Nov. 12.

toys and give them to patients in
a children’s hospital.
The National Honor Society
completed the collection time
for Spirit Chain recently. New
NHS members had to put
together the chain links and

Getting Rid of Environmental
and Economic Nuisances had a
meeting after school. Those
members who needed activity
points could go to the sponsor’s
house to crush cans for recy-
cling. They also discussed their
first fund-raiser, selling posters.
There was a list posted outside
of Mrs. Donna Henry’s door of
Recycling Committee members.
This scheduled their turns to
empty the recycling bins.
FESTIVAL
The senior English class and
Spanish Club from Anahuac
High School went to the Renais-
sance Festival recently.
There were approximately 42
people from Anahuac High
School who went to the Renais-
sance Festival. The sponsors
said thye were pleased with the
behavior of the students and all
had a fun time.
