MINTER
Services /or Jimmy Arland Minter,
49, of Crosby will be held at 10 a.m.
Wednesday at Navarre’s Paul U. Lee
Chapel with the Rev. David Elliott
o//iciating.
Minter, who died Sept. 19 in a
Nassau, Bahamas, hospital, was born
Aug. 24, 1940, in Houston. He lived
in the Crosby-Baytown area /or 10
years and worked as a heavy equip-
ment operator. He was a member of
the Berean Baptist Church, the Goose
Creek Masonic Lodge No. 1192 and
Scottish Rite/Arabia Shrine Temple.
Minter, who lived and went to
school in Houston until he moved to
this area, was also a veteran of Viet-
nam, having served as a helicopter
door gunner with the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Janet
Minter of Crosby; sons, James A,
Minter and David Wayne Minter,
both of Crosby; stepsons, Thomas
Edward Siemek q / Cali/ornia,
Timothy James Siemek of Crosby,
Kenneth Joseph Siemek of Baytown;
daughters, Christy Lee Minter of
Crosby, Linda Ann Ortiz of
Houston, Kathy Sue Kennimer of
Porter, parents, James and Verna
Minter of Houston; brother, David
B. Minter of Houston and seven
grandchildren.
Burial will be at Cedar Bayou
Masonic Cemetery with Masonic
graveside rites.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Siemek,
Gary Kennimer, Danny George, J. W.
Arnett, Bill Wilkie and Jimmy
Johnson.
Arrangements are under the direc-
tion of Navarre’s Paul U. Lee

Services for Sam W. “Boudreaux”
Nowlin, of Baytown will be held at 2
p.m. Wednesday at Navarre’s Paul
U. Lee Chapel with the Rev. D.C.
Mangum o//iciating.
Nowlin, 86, died Sunday in a
Baytown hospital.
Born in 1903 in Camden, he at-
tended San Antonio Military
Academy and had been a resident of
Baytown since 1926.
Nowlin was employed by Exxon
for 38 years before retiring and going
into real estate and cemetery develop-
ment.
Always an avid /isherman, Nowlin
dedicated much of his retirement time
to the pursuit of trophy bass. He
became well-known as a /ishing guide
and, in the 1960s became the host of
radio show, “Fishing With
Boudreaux,” on Baytown’s radio sta-
tion KWBA.
Nowlin is survived by his daughter,
Gloria Faye Nowlin of Abilene;
daughter-in-law, Renee Nowlin of
Houston; granddaughter, Karyl
Nowlin of Houston and stepgrand-
son, Preston Boxley of Houston.
He was preceded in death by his
wife, Frances Nowlin, and son, Dr.
Terry W. Nowlin.
Burial will be at Grandview
Cemetery near Pasadena.
Pallbearers will be Jim Ainsworth,
Bambi Rios, Larry Jackson, Allen
Gibson, Vernon Gibson, Bill Barrett,
Ed Cammack and Joe Naber.
Arrangements are under the direc-
tion of Navarre’s Paul U. Lee
Funeral Home. ■
STANGER
Services for Minnie Maye Stanger,
82, of Baytown, will be held at 2 p.m.
Tuesday at Earlhman Funeral Chapel
with the Revs. Mark Brister and B.J.
Tate officiating.
Mrs. Stanger, a 63-year resident of
Baytown, died Sunday in a Houston
hospital.
She is survived by her husband,
Canales Stanger of Baytown;
brother, Wayland Sanders of
Baytown; sisters, Lovie Abbe and
Thelma Hobbs of Baytown and Faye
Wallace of Terrell; grandchildren,
Mark Stanger of Dallas and David
Stanger of Austin; and two great-
grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ray Morgan,
Leon Brown, Ernest Haney, Edwin
Frazier, E.J. Louis and Charles L.
Tillery.
Burial will be at Earlhman
Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of
Earthman Baytown Funeral Home.
AUSTIN — Texas oil produc-
tion fell to 1.75 million barrels
per day in July, and after seven
months this year is at its lowest
level since World War II, says
