Trinity Episcopal will observe Sunday School Sunday
This Sunday is Sunday School
Sunday at Trinity Episcopal
Church 2701 W. Main in
Baytown. The youth of the
church will lead the 9 a.m. ser-
vice. Kristy Roberts will give the
lay address at the 9 a.m. service.
The Rev. James V. Liberatore
will be the celebrant at both ser-
vices and will give the sermon at
the 11:15 a.m. service.
During the evening worship
service at 7 p.m., Dave Boseman
will be guest catechist. Dave is
activities director at Camp Allen
in Navasota. Also, the Rev. Ellis
Brust will be guest guitarist.
Brust is Rector at St. Paul’s
Episcopal Church in Katy.
During the Sunday morning
service, lay readers for the 9
a.m. service will be Matt Listiak
and Samantah Johnson. Chalice
bearers will be Lois Luallin and
Cal Rutherford.
Lay reader for the 11:15 a.m.
service will be Steve Carroll.
Chalice bearers will be Sharon
Upshaw and Tom Walmsley.
Ushers for the 9 a.m. service
will be Troy Merchant and Jason
West. Greeters will be Marlon
Hawkins, Shelly Cummings and
Jennifer Blair.
Ushers for the 11:15 a.m. ser-
vice will be Dick Dawson and
Pete Sultis. Greeters will be Roy
and Edith Kirkley.
Oblation bearers at thfc 9 a.m.

and Jennifer Bosley. At the 11:15
a.m. service, Laurel Joachim,
Matt Listiak, Erick Barker, and
Roxie Krisher will serve as
Acolytes.
Altar Guild members serving
at both services will be Lil
Gillette, Cecile Dean, Gwen
Wilson, Alison Listiak, Zelda
Workman and Merlyn Hawkins.
Vestry person on duty at 9
a.m. will be Tom Walmsley, and
at 11:15 a.m. will be Larry West.
ALL SAINTS’
The Sacrament of Holy Bap-
tism will be bestowed on two in-
fants to highlight the observance
of the Seventh Sunday of the
Easter Season at All Saints’
Episcopal Church, 200 Caldwell
Drive. The Rev. Jim Sproat,
vicar, will officiate and preach
at the 10 a.m. worship service.
Sproat’s sermon topic this week
will be “The Ascension of Christ
Is Our Promise Of Eternal
Life.”
During the offertory a special
collection will be taken of can
goods and other non-perishable
items to help support the Food
Pantry administered by Trinity
Episcopal Church of Baytown.
The Rev. Deaconess Gladys L.
Hall will proclaim, from the
center steps of the Altar, the
Gospel reading from John con-
cerning “Christ and the Father
being One.”
Eloy Valdes will be reading
the Old and New Testament
scriptural lessons and the
Prayers of the People.
Serving as the acolytes this
Sunday will be Jennie Valdes
and Charlie Valdes.
Performing the duties of
ushers and oblationers will be
Jes Sproat and Shaun Wicker.
Linda Hendricks will be taking
care of the Altar on Sunday.
Janet Valdes will lead the con-
gregational music.
Thfe “First Sunday’’
luncheon/summer picnic, a
monthly covered-dish affair, will
be held at the Ed Mackert
residence, 206 N. Burnet.
Christian Education for all
ages will be offered this Sunday
beginning at 9 a.m. The topic for
everyone this week, from a
Bible-based curriculum, will be,
“Jesus goes back to heaven.”
Continuing during the Sunday
school hour this week, a series of
discussions will be offered, for
those age 12 and older, concern-
ing the nature of the Christian
faith in general and the worship
and practive of the Episcopal
Church in particular. The class
will continue their in-depth study
of the Book of Common Prayer.
The Cooperative Youth
Fellowship (shared by St. Paul’s
United Methodist Church,
Westminster Presbyterian
Church, and All Saints’) will
meet this Sunday afternoon at 5
p.m. with the Junior High group
meeting at All Saints’ and the
Senior High group meeting at St.
Paul’s.
During this week, each day at
noon, Deaconess Hall will con-
duct midday prayers and in-
tercessions at the St. James
House Chapel, 5800 Baker Road.
At 7 p.m. Sundays, Miss Hall
conducts Evening Prayer. At 10
a.m. Wednesday, the Holy
Eucharist is celebrated by the
Rev. P. Walter Henckell, Priest-
In-Charge of St. James House.
On Monday, Tuesday, Thurs-
day, and Fridays at 6:30 a.m. the
service of morning prayer will
be read at All Saints’ Chiirch. On
Wednesdays, at 6:30 a.m. also,
holy communion will be
celebrated by Sproat.
Coy Dees superintendent
Southern Congregational
Methodist Church, 1908 Lee, will
have Sunday school at 9:45 a.m.
Sunday. Coy Dees is superinten-
dent.
The Rev. Everett McDaniel
will be doing the preaching at
10:45 a.m. and at6 p.m. Sundays
There will be special singing
at both services.
Children’s Church is at 11 a.m.
Sunday with Donna Watkins in
charge.
Midweek worship will begin at
7 p.m. Wednesday.
A niirsery will be provided for
both services.
Walles to preach at New Wine
New Wine Christian
Church, Fellowship of Love,
is located at 2107 Bay Plaza
Shopping Center. The Rev.
Bill Walles, pastor, will be br-
inging the message this Sun-
day morning.
Services begin at 10 a.m.
with Wayne Turner leading
praise and worship also, br-
inging the special music.
• Wednesday Bible Study and
fellowship begin at 7 p.m.
The final session of
Evangelism Explosion will be
this Thursday at 7 p.m. A new
session will begin in
September.
Church on Rock plans communion
Sunday morning communion
services are set for 10:30 a.m.
with the Rev. Thomas Meekins
ministering from the Word of
God. The congregation praise
singers will be ministering in
music.
Sunday evening services are
set for 7:14 p.m. Meekins will be
focusing on Mission Emphasis.
The Wednesday teaching ser-
vice begins at 7:14 p.m. with
Meekins teaching. The Junior
Youth will meet after the praise
portion of the service. The Youth
will also meet.
Church on the Rock is a full
gospel church under the
ministry of Dr. Larry Lea and
Church on the Rock North
