Is it true that Kimberly Williams
and country singing cutie Brad
Paisley finally got married? What
was their wedding like?
Megan Nelson, Muskegon, Mich.
Yes, things borrowed and blue
went down between the two last
March. Williams, 31, a Rye, N.Y,
native who now plays wry Dana
on ABC’s According to Jim, said
“I do” to country chart-topper
Paisley, 30, in an intimate evening
ceremony in Malibu, Calif The
next day the couple had a big
reception for their friends and
family, among them Kimberly’s
younger sister, Ashley, of NBC’s
Good Morning Miami Williams’
marital status has been of serious interest
to fans, no doubt thanks to her previous
romance with tennis superstar Pete
Sampras and her movie debut as the
betrothed beauty in the ’91 comedy
Father of the Bride and its ’95 sequel
The actress now bills herself as Kim-
berly Williams-Paisley.
A. With a new Terminator movie just out, I got to
H‘ wondering: How long has former bodybuilder
Arnold Schwarzenegger been acting?
Tiffany Mikes, Big Island, Va
More than 30 years. He started with bodybuild-
ing films in the 1970s, but 1982’s Conan the Bar-
barian gave Schwarzenegger, who turns 56 this
month, a following. The first Terminator in 1984,
plus his marriage to JFK niece Maria Shriver,
made him a player. His most important role may
be yet to come: He’s been toying with the idea of
running for California governor. Stranger things
have happened. Think Jesse Ventura — and he
didn’t even have tile Kennedy clan behind him.

A. What is the true story behind alleged anti-
H‘ Semitism in Mel Gibson's coming movie The
Passion? Also, what's his affiliation with the Holy
Family church? John Russell, Boca Raton, Fla.
‘Anyone who has read the script isn’t worried
about anti-Semitism,” says Gibson’s spokesman
of Passim, a graphic portrayal of the last 12
hours in the life of Jesus Christ “Mel is, and
always has been, interested in great stories,
and this is one of the best ever told.” The
$25 million movie, in Latin and Aramaic with
no subtitles, wrapped in Italy in March, is
funded by Gibson’s production company and should be out next
April. It stars Jim Caviezel (The Count of Monte Cristo) as Christ
and Monica Bellucd (The Matrix Reloaded) as Mary Magdalene.
As for his religious beliefs, Gibson, 47, a father of seven, is a member
of the conservative traditionalist Catholic movement, which still cele-
brates mass in Latin. He’s also the financial backer of a church called
Holy Family, being built near Malibu for a congregation of about 70.
A. What's the real story on the condition of
H' popular R&B singer LutherVandross, who had
a stroke in April? Janice Lawrence, Queens, N. Y.
Family friend Patti LaBelle tells me those
close to Vandross, 52, have been cheered by
his ability to respond. Diabetic with hyper-
tension, he fell into a coma after the stroke. At
press time, his watchful mom was limiting
visitors so her son can regain his strength.
OUT WITH A BANG:
MARCH IS LEAVING SVU.
A, Stephanie
X* March of
Law & Order:
SVU may be the
most attractive
actress on TV.
Did I miss her in
other TV shows
or movies?
John Patterson,
Spring Lake, N.J.
No. But catch
her on SVU
while you can:
She’s to be in
just a few episodes next season, end-
ing her three-year stint as Assistant
DA Alexandra Cabot “I was tired of
wearing a lawyer suit,” says the
funny, straight-talking Dallas native,
28. March wants (what else?) a movie
career (she was in the Chris Rock
comedy Head of State earlier this
year) with, possibly, some theater.
She’ll also have mere time for her
beau of two years, celebrity chef
Bobby Flay. “He’s great,” she gushes,
bragging that she never cooks. “Why
would I?”
In our May 30-June 1
issue, a Who's News
question on Pfc.
Jessica Lynch's
Medal of Honor
eligibility brought
impassioned reader
response, most of it from people
aghast that Lynch was compared to
decorated World War II hero Audie
Murphy- Among the sentiment
•To compare a 'true'American
hero like Murphy to a supply clerk
riding in a truck who got captured,
then rescued by real soldiers, is
disgusting.
D.S. CULLEN, Gallatin, Tam.
• I left a lot of great American
soldiers (dead) in Vietnam. Please
do not place Pfc Lynch on the same
page. She answered the call of duty
like a lot of us did, but never like an
Audie Murphy.
RUBEN Soliz, Killeen, Texas
• I'm certainly glad Pfc Lynch was
rescued, but I'm sure she wouldn't
even consider herself a hero. She
would be more likely to consider
those who rescued her the heroes.
Carol Harris, Jonesboro, Ark.
• As a three-time wounded
Vietnam veteran who holds the
Silver Star, Bronze Star, Air Medal
and Army Commendation Medal,
among others, I was outraged you
would insinuate that Lynch was in
line for [several distinguished
service honors!. I am certain that
she was courageous, but no
account of her heroism has been
released. It seems to me she was
captured, hospitalized, made no
attempt to escape and was rescued
by the real heroes who deserve the
medals.

Also in that issue: An item on Air
Force One incorrectly reported that
any aircraft carrying the president is
caUed Air Force One In fact each
mitary aircraft in which he ffies uses
its own service designation. Thus, a
Marine helicopter is Marine Oneithe
plane In which Bush flew to an
aircraft earner in May was Navy One.
