these may have been committed
by the same suspect.
At 2:40 p.m. Saturday a man
entered the Airwood Drive Inn,
2502 Airhart. walked to the
counter arid demanded money,
from the register!
The man then fled in a brown
pickup truck
At 10:10 p.m. Saturday a man
entered the RC Grocery at 411 Nj.,
Commerce, got a soft drink/and
brought it to the counter and
then demanded money from the
register.
The man took some SI.550
from the register and then fled,
according to police!
At 4:28 am Saturday the
Stop-N-Go at 220 W Main was
robbed The Seven-Eleven at
3101 Wisconsin was robbed about
3ft minutes later
The suspect in the burglaries
is described as being white, 25-30
years of age. 6 feet tall and
weighing^OO pounds,
In at least two of the
burglaries the bpwn pickup
truck was driven by a black
man. 25-30 years of age. of
medium height and of medium

407 Clyde has been arrested and
charged with possession with in-
tent to manufacture and deliver
a controlled substance. ■ -
Police said they were acting
on a Crime Stoppers tip when
they entered Mildred's Diner on
Martin Luther King, looking for
the suspect who was supposed to
be selling drugs.
Police said they did find what
they believed to be cocaine on
the suspect.
The charges against Green
were filed in-the 182nd District
Court. Bond was set at $20,000______

THREE INJURED
Three people were injured
Sunday night in two separate
traffic accidents, both of which
resulted from vehicles hitting a
pothole in the 3700 block of North
Highway 146 just south of Ferry

driven by Arthur Mesler, 35, of
Houston went out of control after
hitting the pothole. Police said a

dition in the intensive care unit
of Gulf Coast Hospital, recover-
ing from injuries he received

cle on which he was working fell
from some ramps, pinning him
underneath.

pened at the Gulf station at
North Mam and Morrell at about
4:35p.m. Sunday. •
ASSAULT INVESTIGATED *
Police are looking into allega-
tions that a 14-year-old Baytown
girl was assaulted by five of her
friends while handcuffed to a
door.
The girl, who lives"on Ripple
Creek Drive, fold police that.she
and her boyfriend were wat-
ching televisibn when five of her
friends came to the door. She
said she let them in and that her
boyfriend left.
She told police that the friends
handcuffed her to a door, ripped
off her clothing, poured hair
remover in her hair and beat
her.
BURGLARY AVOIDED
A resident in the 100 block of
Bolster told police he was
awakened at 2:40 a m. Sunday
by the barking of his dog.
He said he looked out the win-
dow and saw a man standing
near his 1984 Oldsmobile. He
said he grabbed his gun and
flashlight and ran outside but
that the man was gone.
The suspect is described as be-
ing 6 feet tall and weighing 185
pounds.

reports;

day, someone took $25 cash and
three videocassette recorders
from Macha TV. 821 Cedar
Bayou.
; + A resident of the 700 block of
Maplewood1 told police that on
Friday someone broke into two
vehicles parked at his home. The
stereo system was taken from
one while the steering wheel was
taken from the other. The steer-
ing wheel was later located near-
by,
dead at the scene by Justice of
the Peace Ronnie Davis shortly
afterthe8:30p.m. incident.
Maxine Hill of Raywood was
driving north on Highway 61
about 1.7 miles south of Devers
and was attempting to pass a
large grain truck when she hit
Rivon, who, according to the ac-
cident report, was standing in
the middle of the southbound
lane.
The DPS spokeswoman said
the accident is still under in-
vestigation and no charges have
been filed.
