The owner of an Eaat Side night dub spared no
expense in the search for a mad gunman who
wounded three people during a shooting spree
two weeks ago.
Harold Sills, the owner of the Inner City Club
on Rigsby St., spent about $4,000 ol his own
money in his search for he suspect which ended
early Saturday morning in the 200 block of
Guthrie on the deep West Side.
Douglas Thomas, 27,
was arrested by the
security guards for the
Inner City Chib.
Warren Huel, chief oi
security for the club,
said six persons had
been working on the
case for nine days. The
chief said He obtained
information that the
suspect was going to
be in the 200 block of
Guthrie (known as the
Alley) over the week-
end.
Hud said he spotted
the »•" in the car with
three others. The sus-

and began talking with
several people. Hud

Inner City is a safe
club with the manage-
ment taking every step
of care to protect its
customers.
A metal detector is
turner and the ladies'
purse* are searched be-
fore entering.
The club has been so
successful that a num
ber of ciubs through
out the city have con-
tacted Inner City a-
bout its security.
The night of the
shooting, the suspect
was put out because of
his abusive language
to customers.
He left u»e scene only
to return with s gun,
firing at the security
guard who carried the
metal detector who
had to flee for cover.
He opened the front
door and began firing,
striking three persons,
one seriously.
The suspect then fled.
Sillf and his security
leant began a relentless
search for the man and
as B»e coal of that lack
grew so did Sills deter -
mat ion to solve the
case.
The dub has returned to
