White resigns Austin job

nounced his retirement, effec-
tive December 31. 1983.
White joined the Chamber
in June. 1965. He started the
first Publicity Department in
the Chamber in 1970 and
initiated the Austin Skylincr
and the first Chamber press
kit. He began the Austin
Artists Harvest as a showcase
for Austin artists in 1967, and
he started the Austin Sports
Fest in 1978.
He also served as the
Executive Director of the
Highland Lakes Tourist As-
sociation, an area Chamber of
Commerce. He received the
Highland Lakes Ambassador
ol they Year aw ard in 1981. He
inititiated the Highland Lakes
Arts and Crafts Trail in 19b7,
the Highland Lakes Bluebon-
net Trail, and the Austin Boat
Show to promote the beauty of
the hill country and its water
resources.
