Dies Saturday
Funeral services for Carl H.
Thornton, 79 were conducted
Monday morning at the Metho-
dist Church In Lueders, with bu-
rial- Monday afternoon at Oak-
wood Cemetery at Comanche.
Mr. Thornton, retired rural
carrier, died at 2:30 p. in. Sat-
urday in Stamford Inn Nursing
Home. He was born Oct. 29.
1884 at Gap. In 1916. he married
Betty Graham at Comanrhe. He
moVtd to Lueders from Tyler in
1914 In I960. Mr. and Mrs.
Thornton moved from Lueders
to Stamford.
He was a carrier on I.ueders
Route I until 1955 when he re-
tired. He was a member of the
Luedera Methodist Church.
Officiating at the funeral ser-
vices were Rev. Meltdn Milton
and Rev. Dan Turner. Kinney
Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements.
Survivors include his wife ol
Stamford, one daughter. Mrs
Patsy Thom'on Real of Hous-
ton and one brother. R. C. Thorn,
ton of Sherman.
