Junior High Drama Club
Has Had Active Season
1st Baptist
Sonshine
By Bro. Larry Holden*
Well, our varsity football
team worked hard this past
regular season and of course the
hard work paid off. We are in the
play- offs gain and the whole
community is excited. We
appreciate our team, coaches and
all of the support staff that makes
a football organization successful.
A church family is like that -
everyone pulling together as a
team to encourage one another to
accomplish the goal of winning in
life and helping others to win in
Jesus Christ.
If you do not have a church
family please come and be a part
with us. We really do care!
Playing on Jesus' team and having
a personal relationship with Him
is the most important decision
that a person can make.
Our Baptist General
Convention of Texas meets
Monday and Tuesday in San
Antonio this week. Four of our
church members went as
"messengers" in order to vote on
the activities of our denomination
in Texas. We are back now and are
recovering from long hours of
sitting and listening. The weather
was beautiful there but it is good
to be home.
Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. will be
our "Keenagers" covered dish
supper with turkey and dressing.
This time is for our 55 & Better
Crowd with much eating, playing
dominos and just plain fun will be
had by all! The community is
always welcome to come.
This Sunday evening at 6 p.m.
we will have our All Church Praise
Service. This is always an exciting
time for us as the "family" share
testimonies, sing solos, duets,
etc., have special readings, share
favorite Bible verses, do
instrumentals-a nything that
brings praise and adoration to
Jesus our Savior.
We are proud of our football
teams and bands. Let's pray that
our varsity will do their best in
San Antonio and that both schools
will have a safe trip and game. Go
Owls!
Library
News
There have been several
complaints, or disappointed
people, because the computer
given to the Della Mae Baylor
Public Library could not help
people write and print essays,
themes, book reports and
resumes.
Thanks to Ron Green, Odem's
computer expert, that problem
has been solved. Mr. Green spent
two hours of his free Saturday
getting the library's computer set
up and ready to go to work for
you. He even installed a program
he owned for your use.
So if you need to use a
computer for your homework or
to help get a job, come on by.
It is free.
