PAGE 4 - THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23,1995
San Patricio County Court Records
This week has truly been great
in our church. We had 96 involved
in Bible Study in our Sunday
School. At the close of our
morning worship service, the
angels in heaven rejoiced as a
husband and wife followed the
Lord in baptism.
On Monday I attended our
Blanco Baptist Associational
Doctrine Study at First Baptist
Church Woodsboro. It was titled
"Partners With God: Bible Truths
About Giving." We really are
partners with God as we pray for
His will to be done in and through
our lives.
Our Keenagers (55 and better
crowd) met for our monthly
covered dish and fellowship on
Tuesday evening. We had 27 in
attendance, with great food and
challenging dominoes sprinkled
with super fun fellowship. The
next Keenagers covered-dish
supper will be March 28. If you
live in our community and want to
come, please be our guest.
We have two new Bible studies
beginning on Wednesdays at 7
p.m. for junior and senior high
boys. Ed Green III will be leading
the senior high boys, and Tommy
Thompson is leading the junior
high boys. These studies are
beginning in Proverbs.
Bible study for our women will
be Thursday morning at 10. A
study in Galatians will be led by
Vicki Smith. A nursery will be
provided.
On Saturday, those involved in
our Sunday School teaching
ministry will attend with me our
Associational Sunday School
Training Workshop at First
Baptist Church Beeville on the
subject of "Going . . . One on
One." This will be exciting and
much-needed training in
evangelism.
We thank God for our and our
community. We care and we are
always here for you. If you do not
have a church family, we're here
for you.
Haugs Made
Dean's List
At Lutheran
The Haug family of Odem had
two reasons to be proud when
Texas Lutheran College recently
released its Dean's List for the
1994 fall semester. Both Kevin and
Laura were on it.
Kevin is a junior theology
major, while Laura is a freshman
chemistry major.
To be named to the Dean's List,
students must have at least a 3.5
cumulative grade-point average
with a minimum of 12 graded
hours in the past semester.
Texas Lutheran College,
offering degrees in 25 academic
disciplines and nine pre-
professional programs, was
recently listed in "U.S. News &
World Report's" annual rankings
of America's best colleges. Texas
Lutheran has a 1994-95
enrollment of 1,301 students at
its Seguin and Randolph Air Force
Base campuses. ___
