. Laredo’s first polio cases since
introduction of the Salk vaccine
occurred this spring. A state of
emergency had been declared
after the seventh case was re-
ported recently.
Dr. James Bryan of the Public
Wealth Service here said 600,000
doses of the oral vaccine have
been ordered for San Antonio,
the second Texas city due to
benefit from the program.
