and two sons have moved here
from Oreggton, Texas, near
Longview, and are occupying the
Parsonage at the Chufch of
Christ. Minister Blake has ac-
cepted the call of the Church of
Christ, and preached his first
sermons here Ujt Sunday. Their
two sons. Jack and Terry, will
enter High School here next
fall. All the people of Goldth-
waite and Mills County will wel-
come them.

paving will receive seal coating
at the expanse of the City of

May 20, contract was let to
Ross St Martin, who are now
paving two arm-to-market
roads In the county on state
contract, -to/ pave, six blocks
around the school buildings.

drainage and pacing, and work

The Methodist Church of
Goldthwaite will hold open
house from 8 to 10 at the
church Saturday evening June
7, to welcome a new minister;
Rev. M. D. Lowry. Rev. Lowry
and family were due In Gold-
thwaite late Thursday after-
noon and will begin his official
duties at the church Sunday
morning. The minister comes to
Goldthwaite highly recom-
mended, having served in the
Navy "as a Chaplain. His former
residence was in Center Point
located In south-central Texas.
Rev. Paul A Weiss, recently
resigned pastor after almost’ several club
two years here, moved to
San Antonio and will be the
minister at the Trinity Heights
church In that city..

Agent since September 1, 1044,
has resigned his position here
and goes to a better Job as
County Agent at Tulla, Swisher
County.-His resignation Is ef-

Thursday hired Darius B. Mc-
Combs of Taylor County to be-
come Mills County Agent, be-
ginning next week Mr. Mc-
Combs Is an ex-service man and
graduated from A. St M. College
last week. He comes here high-
ly recommended. Mr. McCombs
visited Ooldthwaite Monday
and will move here next week.
Mr. Holcomb during his near-
