The Lampasas team kept pos-

second quarter, but were unable
to push over but one touchdown
to make the 13-0 During the
last part of the first half the
Eagles offensive plays began to
click, but the whistle ending the
half caught them on the Badgers

game. An attempted pass for

FROM THE SIDELINES *-
Last Friday was a perfect set-
up- for the game between the
Goldthwaite Eagles and the Lam-
pasas Badgers, except that the
wrong team (Lampasasi came
out with the long end of the
score (13$. *p» sum jt all up,
there were 500 loyal Eagle fans
who took the special train with a
large pep squad, and a fine band
and assembled at the Lampasas
field to see OOldthwalte walk
away with the victory. H.wever
fate had Its way. and Oold-
thwalte lost Its second game this
year to the tune of 13-#.
The Eagles kicked
Badgeri on the 20-
a Lampasas player fumbled the
ball and Goldthwaite recovered
for their first big break of the
game. The Eagle squad worked
the ball down to the Badger's
three-yard line, but were stop-
ped on dooms. The Badgers then
started a drive that carried them
up the field, and they finally sue
ceeded in crossing the goal line
for their first tally of the game.
The try for extra point was
blocked by Denson and Rose, but
a Lampasas man picked up the
ball and raced across for ths
Springs. Llano and San Saba,
and an open date^ tonight. The
Eagles will play Richland Springs
here, but will travel to Llano
and San Saba for those two
games.
So far, Goldthwaite has won
only one conference game, beat-
ing Rochelle 7-0, and haVe been
handed two defeats by Freder-
icksburg and Lampasas. Before
the team has hung up their suits
for the last time we hope to have
three more wins in the bag by
.defeating Richland Springs,
Llano,, and most of all, San Saba.
