Ann Huser of Shiner, and Freddie

Mr. and Mrs. Kenry B. Huser
off Shiner are parents of the bride.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fishbeck of
this City are parents of the bride-
groom.
Entering .the church with her

ly in her formal bridal gown, a
slender Emoire A-line design of
peau de sole. The bodice
styled with a square neckline and
long sleeves accented with ap-
pliques of Chantilly lace and
pearls, which were repeated at
vantage points on the gown. The
Watteau chapel-length train, also
enhanced with pearl-trimmed ap-
pliques of Chantilly lace, was se
cured at&he beck neckline of
the gown with tiny covered but
tons and a peau de sole cabbage
rose.
On her head she wore a cap-
let of peau de sole petals, em-
broidered with seed pearls, from

tered with a large purple-throat-
ed orchid*. Her only jewelry was
a diamond studded pendant, a
gift from her bridegroom.
She carried out the tradition
•of wearing “something old, some-
thing new, something borrowed __ ___ ________
and something blue” and slipped ‘ turned collar for travel
with peacock blue satin stream-
ers. TV ring-bearer wore a dark
suit and carried the rings on a
smocked white satin pillow adorn-
ed with lily of the valley and
white satin streamers.
Best man duties were perform-
ed by Anthony Guettner of this
City. Groomsmen included Frank
lin Bolech of Shiner, Reginald
Guettner of San Antonio and Wil-
liam Fishbeck of -thl8 City, bro-
ther of the bridegroom.
Witnesses were Otto Bleier, Jr.
of Victoria, uncle of the Vide
and Elroy Fishbeck of Houston,
brother of the bridegroom.
Daniel Malik of Shiner and
Raymond Schumann of this City
ushered. The bridegroom and his
atendants wore dark business
suits and white carnation bou-
tonnieres
The mother at (he bride wore
a blue fitted sheath of boucle
accented with matching accessor-
ies. The bridegroom’s mother
wore a two-piece blue suit with
matching accessories. Both wore
corsages of white carnations.
A wedding reception was held
In American Legion Hall In Shin-
er. A delicious wedding supper
was served at 5:90 p.m. Honor
guests were Rev. John J. Hana-
cek and Rev. Louis Fritz.
Music for afternoon dancing
was by George Machart Orches-
tra of Halletteville. Mr. and Mrs.
Dennis Kram of Shiner led the
Grand March for the wedding
party and guests.
Mrs. BUI Ren ken of this City,
sister of the bridegroom presid-
ed at the wedding register at a
tabic laid with a white cloth and
holding a decorated rice bag tree.
The bride’s table was covered
with a white linen cloth and held
an arrangement of white mums
and greenery flanked by lighted
tapers in crystal holders.: White
p>ace cards adorned with silver
rings and ribbon designated plac-
es for the bridal party and
special guests.
The cake table was laid with
a white lace cloth over white
undertone. The five tiered wed-
ding cake, nestled in a satin rib-
bon ruffle, was lavishly decorat-
ed with sugar spun blue flowers,
lily of the valley, doves and sugar
spun bells nestled in ruffles. The
top tier held a miniature bride
and bridegroom beneath a heart-
shaped archway centered with
wedding bells. The cake was serv-
ed by Mrs. Daniel Malik of
Shiner.

Ruth Circle Meets
At Browning Home
The Ruth Circle of W.S.C.S.
of the First Methodist Church
met January 22 in the home of
Mrs. W. T. Browning. Mrs.
Browning provided the devotional
pant of the program, reading
from a pamphlet designed to show
our addiction to the trend of do-
ing only file things which we want
to do, and die then read an ap-
propriate hymn.
Chairman, Mrs. C. S. Brown
preaided over the business meet-
ing. Minutes were read and ap-
proved.
A religious picture soon to be
shown at the local theatre was
discussed and the members voted
to purchase several complimen-
tary tickets.
After the treasurer’s report file
meeting was dismissed with the
W.S.C.S. benediction.
Mrs. Browning and Mrs. Tom
North, co-hostess, served refresh-
ments to eleven members
Field Trip To
Highway Dept.
The Texas Highway Department
in Yoakum played host Wednes-
day to 28 fifth grade students
and their teacher. Mrs. Norman
McPherson. The group was met
in the reception room by Mr.
Earl Wyatt and Mr. Victor Stary,
who conducted the tour. An in-
teresting and informative film
was shown entitled “Money to
Burn,” pointing out our duty as
good citizens to keep our high-
ways clean and beautiful by
teaching ourselves and others not

Annual Meeting
A meeting of the Huth Memori-
al-hospital Auxiliary was held at
the hospital Wednesday January
24, 1968 at 9: 30 A. M.
k report of last year’s business
was followed by election of new
officers for the coming year
which were as follows: President;
Mrs. E. A. Fields, 1st Vice presi-
dent; Mrs. A. G. Hermann, Jr.
2nd Vice President; Mrs. Jerry
Dobbs, 3rd Vice President, Mrs.

The Auxilians present were
very pleased to learn that they
had contributed 2,205 hours of
volunteer service to the hospital
in foe first year of their or-
ganisation. However, there is an
urgent need for mote members.
Sister Xaveria can be con-
tacted K the hospital to receive
new members of any other wo-
men are interested in emtribut-
ing their time to such a worthy
and gratifying cause.
The Auxilians are being re-
minded at this time that their
annual dues are due and arc pay-
able to Mrs. Paul Jacobs or Sis-
ter M. Xaveria at the hospital.

Social Meeting
The members of the Philoma-
thic Dub assembled at Quast’s
Restaurant Tuesday afternoon,
January 23 for their regular soc-
ial meeting.
Members joined in reading In
unison the “Collect for Dub Wo-
men” after which Mrs. E. O.
Callicoatte. the president, presid-
ed over the short business session.
Mrs. E. L. Merrem presented
Mrs. H. T. Buehring who gave
an interesting paper on “Thumb-
nail Sketches of Elbert Hubbard
Mrs. A. J. House then gave an
interesting and informative Pa-
liamentary Drill.
The following members then en-
joyed a delicious buffet: Mesdam-
