Exxon dealers east
Of the Rocky Moun-
tains will now accept
the credit card of any
major gasoline com-
pany for credit pur-
chases according to
company spokesman
H.W. Beathard.
Beathard said that
by automatically giv-
ing customers who
use other credit cards
an opportunity to ap-
ply for an Exxon
card, the company is
trying to gamer more
of a shrinking
gasoline market.
“Hopefully they
will become a credit
card customer of Ex-
xon,” he said.
“It’s a good time
Beathard said.
“Everybody is com-
peting for a shrinking
market.”
He said that more
fuel conscious
drivers and fuel effe-
cient automobiles
were contributing to
the declining gas
market.
