Dr. Rick Rigsby, president and CEO of Rick Rigsby Communications, will be the keynote
speaker for the Baytown Chamber of Commerce’s 70th annual gala on April 16.

annual banquet April 16
The Baytown Chamber of Commerce
will hold the 70th Annual Chairman’s
Gala on Thursday, April 16 with social
hour at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7. The event
will be held at the Sylvan Beach Pavilion.
The chamber will hear the results of this
past year’s efforts from Board Chair David
Daspit who will pass the gavel after two
years as chairman of the board. The in-
coming board chair is Gary Englert (Com-
munityBank of Texas) who will share his
thoughts about the coming year’s program
of work. The event will also recognize
outgoing directors and committee chairs
and will name the Ambassador of the Year.
Keynote speaker for the Chairman’s
Gala will be Dr. Rick Rigsby, president
and CEO of Rick Rigsby Communica-
tions. Through motivational speaking,
corporate coaching, books and blogs, Dr.
Rigsby encourages and empowers audi-
ence members to become great people
who do great things. The San Francisco
native is a former award-winning journal-
ist who followed a television news career
with six years of graduate school - culmi-
■ nati^ fill* a: the University
ofOregon.
A college professor for two decades, he
spent most of those years at Texas A & M
University where he also served as char-
acter coach and chaplain for the Aggies
football team.
Rigsby now devotes his full attention
to empowering people worldwide - from
presenting leadership principles in Nige-
ria to speaking to Fortune 500 companies
in the Americas, Europe and Canada.
In high demand among educational,
business and service organizations and a
favorite among professional sports orga-
nizations including the National Football
League and the PGA, Dr. Rigsby offers
common-sense wisdom to those desiring
to rise to greater levels of excellence.
Dr. Rigsby is the author of Lessons from
a Third Grade Dropout - the story of time-
less common-sense wisdom learned from
his father.
The event promises to be very enjoy-
able. Reserved tables or individual tick-
ets are available at the chamber office, but
tickets will not be available at the door.
