Lona Gale Donlon,
57, of Houston was
bom October 18, 1955
in Baytown and passed
away at her home Friday,
August 23, 2013. She
was a graduate of Ross S.
Sterling High School in
Baytown and was a can-
cer survivor. Lona had a
big heart and always had
a smile no matter what the
circumstances in her life.
She loved her family and
all animals and was nice
to everyone she met. She
will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in
death by father, D. V. Ott;
stepfather, Tony Apost-
alo; brother, Dale Ott;
brother-in-law, Tommy
Standard; and niece, Jean-
ice Standard Droddy. She
is survived by her hus-
band, Robert F. Donlon
of Houston; stepdaugh-
ter, Janae Kratz and step
grandchildren, Stephen
Glenn Kratz and Shaelyn
Kratz, all of Pennsylva-
nia; mother, Pauline Ott
of Baytown; sisters and
brothers-in-law; Dana
Standard and Tresa and
Tommy Eastman, all of
Baytown and Billie Ann
and Kevin Robison of
Houston; , sister-in-law,
Jane Pavliska Ott of
Baytown; her special dog,
Patty Cake; and many
nieces and nephews and a
host of friends.
Her family will receive

al Home Tuesday, August
27, 2013 from 8:30 a.m.
until 9:30 a.m. Graveside
services will follow at
10:00 a.m. at Cedarcrest
Cemetery with Pastor Tim

Barbara Diane Nelson
fought a brave and long
battle but went to be with
the Angels on August
25th, 2013 at 7:01 am
she was bom on January
6th, 1951 in Parkersburg
West Virginia. She was
surrounded by family and
loved ones, she leaves
behind four beautiful
daughters, Jodi Goff, Hol-
ly Nelson, Julie Herrera
and l.eska Nelson. She
also leaves nine grand-
children, Hannah Odom,
Halee Goff, Madi Goff,
Destiny Lacky, Devon
Brewer, Alyssa More-
no, Jeremy Johnson, and
Jaysen Johnson. She also
leaves behind loving sis-
ters Linda Goggil, Joyce
Young,,; Sandra Trapp,
nieces & nephews Dana
Goggil, Dustin Goggil,
David Cochrane, Misty
Gray, Robert Young, An-
gel Young, Shelby Trap-
pano, Douglas Trapp. She
was preceded in death by
her mother Jan Bradley,
father Jack Carroll and
Brother Jack Carroll.
The family would like
to express their deep grat-

for her friendship and

Billy Lee Ronald My-
ers passed away peaceful-
ly on Friday August 23,
2013, surrounded by his
loving family.
Billy is survived by
the mother of his chil-
dren, Shirley Myers and
all of his children Tere-
sa Franklin, Brenda Irby
and husband Danny Irby,
his son Randy Myers
and wife Danah Myers.
He also leaves behind
eight grandchildren, Ka-
gan Myers, Kailey My-
ers, Taylor Irby, Brandon
Irby, David Irby, Melissa
Franklin, Elaine Brans-
ford, and Lori Franklin.
He also has a loving sister
Nadine Bickler. There are
several great grandchil-
dren, nieces and nephews.
Billy was born January
7,1930 in Shawnee, Okla-
homa. He really enjoyed
hunting, fishing, picking
the guitar with family and
friends, and crossword
puzzles. He was a jokester
and had a wonderful sense
of humor. He will be truly
missed by all.
He served his country
in the U.S. Army during
the Korean Conflict.
The family will receive
friends on Tuesday, Au-
gust 27, 2013, from 5:00
pm to 7:00 pm at Earth-
man Funeral Home, 3919

Baytown Council election ballot set

The official filing period
ended for candidates run-
ning for one of three city
council seats up for grabs in
Baytown’s Nov. 5 election.
Three incumbents and
two challengers filed for
spots on the ballot.
District 3 incumbent
Brandon Capetillo is the
only uncontested seat.
District 2 incumbent
Scott Sheley will be chal-
lenged by Baytown busi-
nessman Chris Presley.
Incumbent Mercedes
Renteria-III and Laura Al-
varado are vying for the
District 1 council seat.
Today, the city of
Baytown will conduct a
drawing for the order of
candidate names on the
Nov. 5 general election bal-
lot.
The 10 a.m. drawing will
take place in the city coun-
cil chambers, 2401 Market
Street, Baytown.
Chambers commissioners to consider officials pay

Chambers County
Commissioners Court
will consider 2014 sala-
ries for elected officials
among other items at its
meeting at 9:30 a.m. to-
day at the courthouse,
404 Washington Avenue,
Anahuac.
In other budget-relat-
ed items, commissioners
plan to go into executive
session to consider ongo-
ing negotiations with the
Chambers County Sher-
iff’s Association and to
set a public hearing for
10 a.m. Sept 24 to con-
sider the budget.
They will also consid-
er instituting mandatory
annual physicals for full-
time employees, with
penalties for violation.
Commissioners will
consider securing Cedar
Hill Park at night and
consider adding a securi-
ty reception barrier at the
Cedar Bayou Communi-
ty Building.
Other items on the
agenda include consid-
eration of an economic
incentive agreement with
Enterprise Products and
renewal of various con-
tracts.
Spaces available for Baytown yard sale
The city’s biggest yard sale of the year
is coming up soon and anyone wfio wants
to take part should take action.
Baytown’s Annual Giant Yard Sale is
scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. to 3
p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Bicentenni-
al Park, which is located,on Lee Drive at
Market Street.
Sign up to sell your unwanted house-
hold goods, those clothes that don’t fit and
other typical garage-sale items at the sale.
A 15’ x 15’ space for the sale costs $15.
Sellers must bring their own tables, can-
opies, chairs and anything else they might
need.
