Have you ever dealt with a
ten-year-old on such occa-
sions? Through rumble and
grumble he rummaged
through his closet to select
his own clothes (which I've
been urging him to do for
months) and came up with
Jeans instead of slacks and a
knit, turtleneck shirt instead
of the long-sleeved cotton
shirt I had put out for him.
Through all the grumbling
I heard as I went about
breakfast, I finally retorted
with "You're just like a nag-
ging old man."
Throughout breakfast a
few more desparaging re-
marks were cast my way ..
ignoring him became the on-
ly defense. As we got into the
car and backed out of the
drive I inquired about the lo-
cation of his knitted cap on
such a "cold” morning.
The weatherman had just
reported that the tempera-
ture would hit the high 70s
this day, clearing skies
would arrive by afternoon
and we could expect pleasant
weather for another day or
