OBITUARIES

Floyd Squier
Floyd Squier passed
away Friday, March 25
at the age of 91. He was
bom to parents, Emil Clif-
ton Squier and Idell Ste-
phens Squier on Septem-
ber 14, l 924 in Cleveland,
Texas.
In his early years, Floyd
attended public schools
in Cleveland. Upon the
day of his 18th birthday,
he joined the Army-Air
Force to serve during
World War II and was
assigned to Ellington Air
Base as an airplane me-
chanic for a time and was
later deployed to Burma
where he served until the
war’s end. In January,
1946, Floyd was honor-
ably discharged with the
rank of Corporal.
After returning home
from the War, Floyd met
Hester Fay Kelley and af-
ter a two year courtship
they were married on July
24,1948.
Floyd is preceded in
death by his parents,
brothers, Robert, William,
and Woodrow and sisters,
Estelle, Mattie and Ester,
grandchild, Tiffany Wil-
son and son-in-law, Mic
Lefler. He is survived by
his wife, Fay of nearly 68
years, daughters, Evelyn
Lefler, Holly Wilson, and
Sue Cole and husband Eu-
gene, six grandchildren,
eight great-grandchil-
dren, and one great-great-
grandchild. He is also
survived by a brother-in-
law, Melvin Derve Sim-
mons and wife Kathleen,
and many nieces, neph-
ews and cousins.
Floyd was baptized
on November 3, 1946,
at First Baptist Church,
Cleveland, Texas and was
ordained as a Deacon a
few years later. Upon
moving to Highlands,
Texas in 1962, Floyd con-
tinued to serve the Lord
as a Deacon in the Second
Baptist Church until he
and Fay moved to Mont-
gomery, Texas in 2013.
Floyd enjoyed his time
with family and friends
and loved to host fami-
ly gatherings where he
focused his attention on
entertaining the grand-
children and great-grand-
children. He was happi-
est when he was doing for
others. He was a gener-
ous, humble, kind-heart-
ed gentleman who will
be greatly missed. He
served God, his family
and his country well. He
will have a special place
in Heaven.

Heiman
Florence “Flo” Heiman,
73, of Baytown, Texas
passed away on March
23, 2016. She was bom
on February 27, 1943 in
Buffalo, New York to
John Fulton and Ruth
Chapman.
She attended Bayway
Assembly of God in
Baytown. Flo worked
for Kroger for 26 years
and she enjoyed spend-
ing time with her family
whenever possible.
She is preceded in death
by her parents, John Ful-
ton and Ruth Chapman;
and a brother, Butch Ful-
ton.
She is survived by
her husband, Steve; her
children, Renee, Jim-
my, Scott, Jennifer, Sam,
Shannon, Brea, and Re-
gina; 17 grandkids and 2
great-grandkids.
The family will receive
friends on Monday, March
28, 2016 from 5:00pm to
8:00pm in the Chapel at
Crespo & Jirrels Funeral
Home. Funeral services
will be held at 10:00am on
Tuesday, March 29, 2016
in the Chapel at Crespo
& Jirrels Funeral Home
with Pastor Mike Weber
officiating. Interment
will follow immediately

Ann Jeanette McDow-
ell, age 85, went to be
with the Lord on Thurs-
day March 24,2016.
She was born in Dallas,
Texas on October 27,
1930 to Anna Elizabeth
Prigmore Woodward and
Robert Edward Wood-
ward.
She enjoyed gardening,
sewing, playing cards,
traveling, sailing with
“Mack” and spending
time with family, espe-
cially her grandchildren
and great-grandchildren.
She was a very loving
and caring energetic
person who enjoyed and
loved life and will be
deeply missed by all who
knew her.
She is preceded in
death by her beloved hus-
band, Louis Rubin Mc-
Dowell and her parents.

Smith and Vicky (Martin)
Murray; “Graggy” to
her grandchildren, Lisa

Jeff was bom October
2,1923 to parents Russell
and Menia Reed in Ma-
mou, Louisiana.
He is preceded in death
by his wife.
Jeff is lovingly sur-

Syble Harlow
Syble Harlow passed
away on Saturday, March
26, 2016 at San Jacin-
to Methodist Hospital in
Baytown with her loving
family by her side.
Syble Harlow was born
Syble Ann Myers on May her later years. She was a

She married her hus-
band, James H.V. Harlow
in 1964 and moved to
Coronado, California be-
fore moving to Baytown,
Texas in 1967 after Jim’s
active duty in the Navy
was completed.
While in Baytown she
became the mother of
James C. Harlow.
Her next move was to
Aruba, where Mark L.
Harlow was bom.
Syble was an active
golfer and she enjoyed
travel to Curacoa, Bo-
naire, Caracas, and Mara-
caibo in the Aruba Flying
Club aircraft. In 1974 she
returned to Baytown and
was an active photogra-
pher and painter.
Health issues dogged
and Delia Jane Roberts
Myers in Bassfield, Mis-
sissippi as the ninth of ten
children.
Syble was raised by her
grandparents in Prentiss,
Mississippi from age 2 to
age 15, and then by her el-
dest sister, Eloise and late
brother-in-law Patrick
Broussard in Lafayette,
Louisiana.
She graduated from
Lafayette High School in
1961.
diabetes, gall stone and
heart-attack survivor.
Her bout with kidney
disease was terminated,
unfortunately, by yet an-
other heart-attack two
weeks after her 52nd wed-
ding anniversary.
She was preceded in
death by her mother in
1945; her father; three
brothers, Mac Myers, Da-
vid Baker, and Charles
Myers; four sisters, Eloise
Broussard, Jane Dosset,
Octavia Williams, and
Betty Waters. Betty died
in February 2016.
Syble leaves behind her
husband Jim; sons, James
and Mark; daughter-in-
law, Kim Mlcak Harlow;
granddaughters, Hannah,
Hope, and Haven Har-
low; grandson, Harrison
Harlow; and sisters, Jean
Stovall of Columbia,
Mississippi and Katheryn
Leonard of Milton, Flori-
da.
The family will receive
friends on Wednesday,
March 30,2016 beginning
at 9:00 am with funeral
services at 11:00 am at
Earthman Funeral Home.
She will be interred at Ce-
dar Crest Cemetery, 3010
Ferry Rd, Baytown, Texas
77520.

Mary Angelica, a folksy
Roman Catholic nun who
used a monastery garage to
begin a television ministry
that grew into a global re-
ligious media empire, has
died. She was 92.
Known to millions of
viewers simply as “Mother
Angelica,” the founder of
the Eternal Word Televi-
sion Network died Easter
Sunday at the rural monas-
tery where she lived about
45 miles north of Birming-
ham, Alabama.
Mother Angelica had
been in declining health
since suffering a severe speaking ability and had
cerebral hemorrhage on other, less-severe strokes
