"Twenty decrees of divorce were !
granted and twenty divori cast
dismissed by the district judge at
Waxahachie yesterday And W.txa- i
hachie is the home <.Γ Rev. C. M· -
Pherson organizer of the Divorce-
Made-Difficult League. There isn't :
a saloon in Ellis count theatre.·· are
unknown and baseball is a reminis-
cence. What's wrong? Hon Jack
Beall should speak oui " Dallas
Times-Herald.
The Hon. Jack Beall isn't afraid to
speak and when he does he will
doubtles tell the Times-Herald that
if it will examine the court records
in its own count? . i· wilt find it
equally as bad in the divorce
line and a great deal worse
in others. There something
materially wrong in our divorce laws
and with public sentiment but this
applies to the whole state and nor
to any particular section.—Bonham
News.
While we are inclined to the opin-
ion that the divorce evil is not nearly
bo threatening as the marriage evil
and look on the campaign for great-
er restrictions in the divorce court
as a kind of "lock the gate after
the horse is stolen'' proposition we
are not blind to the fact that appli-
cations for divorce are en'irel; too
numerous. So far as the record re-
referred to by the esteemed Tims-
Herald is concerned we are proud to
say that very few of the cases which
burdened the court docket at this
term were home grown and the
moral influence offered by Ellis
county could not correct the evil al-
ready done. The absence of saloons
and other evils in Ellis county does
purify conditions here even in marri- i
age. but it can't reai h out and save
the poor sufferers in Dallas and other
like counties.

If Judge Glass pots into the con-

Judge Glass is too honorable to
"throw stones" or "sling mud" in a
political scramble and if he were
not the clean record of George Bur-

would furnish little opportunity of
such strenuous warfare. Like many
other men George Burgess has his
