It is rather disheartening to read
sport pages in the larger state
dailies and see news items from
smaller towns relative to basket-
ball in the various towns. We’ve
still hoping to see where the “Cue-
ro Gobbler. Quintet” does
something or another before
the current Seaton is over, but it is
most doubtful our wish will come
true. Basketball to the present-
set of athletes out at Cuero High
is apparently so much boloney and
they plan to leave it boloney. This
department has pleaded time and
time again for a basketball team
out there but try as we might, have
not been able to stir up much in- '
tersst in the sport.
Some of the athletes shout “Give |
us a gym and we’ll giye you a
basketball team.” but that’s not bs
easy as it sounds. Besides, there
are plenty of schools, smaller and.
