edy far tbclr fourth district ball
game, with the Kenedy Lions. Sev-
eral members of the team are still,
suffering from light colds, but things
are shaping up to where they should
be in pretty fair condition for the
game.
In their three district games to
date, Kenedy has lost to Edna and
Beeville. They didn’t look any too
hot against the former last Friday
afternoon when they lost 26 to 0.
From a spectator's standpoint, they
seemed to have about as much ma-
terial as any other teem In the dis-
trict, but just couldn’t get going
•The Cowboys also got a couple of
mighty good breaks during the en-
counter, which had .a bearing on
the final score.
Unless they show a marked im-
provement over last week’s play,
we’ll predict a fairly easy victory
for the Gobblers. Of course, this is
taking Into consideration that the
Cuero lads will continue to play the
brand of ball they’ve played most of
the season.
when the Southern Methodist Mus-
tangs will meet the Texas Aggies in’
a Southwest Conference game.
The Mustangs, 1B36 season ti)c
winners and Rose Bowl players, were
not rated highly in pre-season
guesses this year but now are pick-
ed to be- the first team of record to
win the conference pennant twice
in succession. They got that way by
defeating the University of Texas
14-7 the past Saturday In their in-
itial conference tilt after a strong
non-oonference Showing.
The Aggies saw championship ex-
tinction loom up when a “He beats
you, I beat him, you beat me1’ rou-
tine was completed among the three
pre-season favorites Saturday when
the Arkansas Rrazorbacks defeated
them 18-0; Texas Christian had
turned, back Arkansas 18-14 and the
Aggies had taken Texas Christian
18-7 before Arkansas gored the?
Cadets. The Aggies a week earlier
had played Baylor a scoreless tie cn
a muddy field at Waco.
The Aggies, with no alibis for the
Razorbaek disaster except that the
Porkers gave them a good football
lesson, began wondering early in the
week how to recoup their fortunes
at the Ponies’ expense. Another
worry confronting them is that they
will play the University of Saji
Francisco Dons Wednesday, Novem-
ber 11, at San Francisco, Cal., giv-
ing them two games and a long
train trip within five days. *
