Dear Editor:
It isn't my place to judge how a
woman lived her life. However, it is
iffy place to inform the people of
Cuero that someone within the city
bureaucracy has chosen to incorrect-
ly name the end of Bridge Street
after me long-deceased "madame"
of a "house of ill-repute".
Two signs, one at the west end of
Bridge Street and one on the east-
bound side of the Old San Antonio
Hwy/Heaton Street, name Bridge
Street as Rosie Dunn Road. Anyone
who remembers "Miss Rosie" also
remembers what business she con-
ducted out of her former house on
me end of Bridge. But I don't think
it's the sort of business the Chamber
of Commerce has in mind when pro-
moting business opportunities here
in Cuero. Nor is it the sort of
lifestyle most citizens of the city
would care to promote to their
friends, relatives and any stranger
passing through town.
I would hope that the city would
take measures to correct this prob-
lem, not only for me sake of "decen-
cy", but also simply to correct their
misnaming of Bridge.
Sincerely,
Teresa Billings
Dear Editor:
I want to express my sincere grat-
itude to everyone who helped me
through two tragedies that occurred
to me recently. On Nov. 23 1 fell and
broke a hip.
Thanks to the doctors, especially
Dr. Breech and Dr. Riedel, to all the
nurses, therapists and social workers
at DeTar Hospital I was able to go
home D,ec. 9th. The day I was taken
to the hospital my husband was
taken to a Cuero nursing home,
since due to his illness he was not
able to be left alone and was almost
bedridden. The morning of Dec. 23 1
received a call that my husband had
been taken to Emergency. Our son
stayed there until his Dad passed
away. The news spread quickly and
I want to thank everyone who
helped me through this trying time.
Special thanks to Father Johnson,
Father Carolan, Knights of
Columbus, Cuero Home Health andl
all my friends and relatives. Most off
all to my eight year old grandson,,
Kristopher, who was with me the
day 1 fell and stayed with me and his
Grandpa until we got the help we
needed.
God bless each and every one of
you
Sincerely,
Rita Bluntzer
We would like to thank all the
residents of Cuero who decorated
their homes and businesses for the
holidays.
Christopher, over two years Old,;
was delighted every single night,
and so were we! Thank you all. 1

Dear Editor:
Just wanted to do a follow-up to
a letter I wrote a while back about
litter cans to be placed out on our
duck island at the park.
My granddaughter and I were up
there during their school break and
saw they had placed two of them out
there.
The island looks so much better.
1 just wished to thank you.
Sincerely,
Roberta Tucker
