the bus to Beaumont where for
three weeks I was permitted to
help take care of the young

October 23, I snatched the op-

cousin, Miss Virginia Stanfield,
in Houston. It was her birthday.
She was 89. Tuesday night I
spent with my girlhood friend,
Mrs. Stella Reeves McDearman
Pinette, an old Ebonyite. I also
met her son, Edwin McDear-
inan, a fine young man.
