Baytonian Gary Sherlock, ex-
ecutive director of Baytown
Medical Center, was named the
outstanding administrator of
1978 by Humana, Inc., the com-
panyihat operates the hospital,
at an awards dinner here. .'
Sherlock was selected for the
honor after being accepted as a
member of the 1976 Humana
Club for administrators.
Members are chosen on the basis
of management ability in
hospital administrative areas
This is the first year Sherlock
was accepted for membership in
the club.
Sherlock joined Humana in
1973 as administrator of
Baytown Medical Center.
He has a bachelor’s degree
from Creighton University in
Omaha, Neb., and a master of
hospital 'administration degree
from Duke University in
Durham, N. C. He is a member
of the American Hospital
Association and the American

ning gear. He mounted a Jeep
pickup cab on the frame and
fabricated the hood and fenders
from fiber glass. He can raise
the. whole works, just like on
big trucks, to tinker with the
engine.
“I wanted a pickup and
wanted it to be different,” he
said.
Gasoline is carried in a drum
underneath the cab steps, just
like -a big diesel. Mellott said
he'd like to have put in a diesel
engine, but couldn’t afford to
pay $5,000 for one
