a friend yesterday afternoon play-
ing dominoes and didn’t know an> -
thing about tiis house being burnt t!
until an hour later when he came
down on the street and was asked if
he had any insurance. He said he
had about $1000 insurance but ask

him. Then he was told about the
fire and hurried home to see what
hml been saved of his household ef-
fects. Mrs. Ritchie did not know of
the fire until she returned from l>a’-

There wa: great sorrow in Waxa-
hachle this morning when it was
learned at an early hour that Me. 1).
IT Kendall was dead. Though she
had been sinking for several days
the ue vs of her death was received
j with keen grief and friends were
sorrowed when they learned the end

i last at 4:20 this morning at the
1 family residence on Mrown street.

her young ladyhood after she fin-
ished college was spent in Henriet-

| university for young ladies at St.
lauds Mo. and also attended Oak
Cliff College for young ladies. A

a winner of friends whom she held

joined the Baptist church w hen she :

faithful and loyal member to her
- faith and was ail active worker in
l the church in Waxahachie until her
| health failed.
While on a visit to her sister. Mrs. ■
' o. M Winn of Oklahoma City Mrs. '
! Keiulall was stricken Thanksgiving
day. and never recovered from the
attach. She was brought home the i
■ i rst day of the New Year but has r
never been able to leave her home.
The Kendalls moved to Waxaha-
chie ten years ago from Ennis and
fayed three years moving then to

sided.
She is survived by her husband.
