TRINITY UNIVERSITY NOTES
Dr. Joseph W. Cochran secretary
of the board of education of the
Presbyterian church U. S. A. has
just closed a series of sermons and
lectures that bid fair to mean a
great deal for the student body. It
was not definitely known whether
there were any young ladies who
had decided to consecrate their life
work to the foreign field but at the
close of the meeting ten expressed
their desire to either become teach-
ers In the home and foreign fields or
missionaries. The spiritual life of
the University was deepened by "D.-. |
Cochran's earnest sermons and ad-
dresses. On Sunday evening at the
close of the last of his series of ad-
dresses 'a vote of thanks was given
him for hfs coming and to the board
for sending him. He left Monday
morning for the State University fit
Austin afld will visit a number of
other colleges before he returns to
his office at Philadelphia.
President S. L. Hornbeak has re-
cently been appointed a delegate to
the < Pan-Presbyterian counsel whl6h
holds its meeting at Edenburg
Scotland 1n 1913. The university
appreciated the compliment paid its
head and feels that the trust is
worthily placed.
The enrollment of the university
has reached 338 at the present writ-
ing decidedly the best enrollment
for many years.
The authorities are busy arrang-
ing for the summer normal and sum-
mer school that will be held at
Trinity University from June 10 to
August 1. Some of the best public
school teachers in Ellis and adjoin-
ing counties will be associated with
the faculty of Trinity University an<J
the summer sessicn bids fair to be
first class in every particular.
President Hornbeak and* Field
Secretary J. C. Smith haye been
away in the east for some three
weeks looking after the financial
interests of< the university.
An invitation is extended the
general public to attend the Baraca
and Philathea rally at the First
BaptiBt cfiorch tonight at 7:30. Mr.
Marshall A. Hudson is an entertain-
ing speaker and he has a messags
for all Sunday school and church
workers.

Mrs. Hansen In a Letter From
Mobile Tells How She Gained It
Mobile Ala.—"I suffered for seven
years with womanly trouble" writes
Mrs. Sigurd Hansen In a letter from
this city. "I felt weak and always had
a headache and was always going to
the doctor. At last I was operated on
and felt better but soon I had ths
same trouble.
My husband asked me to try Cardul.
I felt better after the first bottle and
now I have a good appetite and sleep
well. I feel fine and the doctor tells
me I am looking better than he ever
saw me."
If you are sick and miserable and
suffer from any of the pains due to
womanly trouble—try Cardul.
Cardui is successful because it is
composed of ingredients that have been
found to art curatively on the woman-
ly constitution.
For more than fifty years it has been
used by women of all ages with great
success. Try it. Your druggist sells it

That Five-Dollar Proposition.
The Daily Light has on its sub-
scription list a large number of sub-
scribers who pay $5 in advance for
a year's subscription. Those who
take advantage of this offer not only :
save a dollar on subscription each
yea* but they are not troubled with
a collector during the time. One
thing In particular that we have no-
ticed is that those who pay $5 in ad-
vance almost invariably continue to
pay in advance and few if any go
back to the 50-cents-per-month plan.
Tf you have never tried the five-dol-
lars-a-year-in-advance plan we want
you to try it one time and you will
at once see how well p1.eased you
will be. tf
