Pictures for Annual
Jess Harwell of the Greer Studios
in Fort Worth arrivfed here about
9:30 Wednesday, October 2, to pho-
tograph high school students for
the Melon Vine.
Commenting that a person in his
business had to be a combination
photographer, machine and genius,
Harwell explained that car trouble
had delayed his arrival an hour
With the services of a discarded pa-
per clip, he was able to bring the
dissatisfied auto back to life to
reach his destination and make W.
H. S. a happy place again.
Five class periods were used to
complete his work.

Principal’s Message
Additional New Pupils
Since the last edition of the Grass
Burr two new students have'Enroll-
ed, both of them being seniors. They
are: Owen Owens from Carbondale,
Pennsylvania and James Hemphill
from Millsap, Texas.
I am sure that I voice the senti-
ment of the vast majority of stu-
dents in Weatherford High School
when I say we are glad to be back
in school after a long vacation per-
iod. We are off to a good start for
what we hope to be a successful
year’s work. No doubt but what
many of you think that nine months
is a long stretch of time. But remem-
ber time passes rapidly and before
you realize it, the school year will
be far spent. See to it that you get
off to a good start with your work.
I, personally, appreciate more than
I can tell you, the wonderful co-
operative spirit shown by practical-
ly every student in school. Some
rather definite regulations concern-
ing conduct and welfare of every
one in Senior High School were for-
mulated into a little hand-book and
was given to each of you when you
enrolled. Study it carefully because
it contains much helpful informa-
tion you need to know. There are
many new faces among our student
body. You have enrolled in our high
school for the first time. We wel-
come you and remember this is your
school and we want you to be hap-
py in your new surroundings.
To one and all: Let’s make this the
best year’s work we have ever done.
With your help and cooperation we
can have a really successful year.
Be a loyal supporter of your school
and of the activities which it spon-
sors.
—J. E. GRANSTAFF.
