Teachers met for their annual
Christmas Party at the lovely
home of Mr. and Mrs. C. A.
Mopping. Guests were greeted
Mr. and Mrs. Klqyd Gentry of
Abilene. Mr*. Gentry Is an
accomplished musician and en-
tertained the group with beau
.tiful organ music, later in the
aftenMinn Julian Evans was per-
suaded to Join Mrs. (.entry
with his drums and they played
all the paid ole favorites and
all the requests, andendedwith
everyone singing Christmas
carols.
The oo-hosts, Mr. and Mrs.
IX-1 ton Harnett and Mr. and
Mrs. George Reese, with Mr.
and Mrs. Muppirq; served de-
, Melons turkey, dressing and
ham. and igher members
brought all sorts of good things
to eat. Several plates of food
were carried to retired teach-
ers who were sick or In the
rest home*. It was decided to
send gifts to those in the rest
homes.
The Christmas gifts under
the tree were distributed In a
unique way. Each person was
given a gift and then MrS-
Harnett read "The Night be-
fore Christmas" and each tljne
a word was read that meant
the same as reindeer or St.
Nicholas the gift was passed

was left with a gift. It was a
most ensryable and happy
occasion for everyone.

and crafts.
The clothing revue will be
Monday. January 13 at 7:00
p.m. at the Mills County Youth
(enter. The public is invited
to the revue.
Food entries in the adult and
youth divisions are due at the
show bam on Thursday, Jan-
uary 18. by 4:00. For youth
information, please contact
home economics teachers or
the County Extension Office at
648-2650. t
Adult food entires include the
following canned goods: pickles.
Jams, vegetables, Jellies,
relishes, preserves and fruits.
Fnter one Jar of each item
with name of canned good on
the side and the name of the
person on the bottom of the
Jar. ( aimed goods may be pick-
ed up at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Aouth crafts will be under

A maximum of three Items
per person may be entered.
The entries are due by 4:00
p.m. on Thursday, January 16,
at the Show Bam. *’
Adult crafts have the same
entry time and requirements
as the youth. Items may be
entered In textiles, flowery,
wall decorations, wood, cera-
mics, china, glass, miscellan-
eous decorations (functional
and decorative) and paintings.
Let’s have a big participation
in the Adult division this yesr.
Mills County has a lot of talent
and good cooks. Now is the time

at 9:05 a.m. In the Childress
Hospital.
Bom June 27, 1892 in Ssinv
ervell County, she was the
daughter of Joe Garrett Spark-
man and Fannie Sellars Spark-
man.
On June 6. 1915 site was
married toG. I,.Kemp in Gold-
thwaite.
Mr*. Kemp is preceded In
death by a son, Joe A. Kc-nip,
on March 18 127«, andadaugie
ter, Norene, in 1922.
.Survivors include her hus
band, G. L. Kemp of Goldtb
walte; two sons, Jemes Kemp,
El Paso; W. M. Kemp, J»|,
New Mexico; three daughters.
Mrs. Mira Lee Yeager and
Mrs. Kathleen I>ewls, both of
(ioldthwalte; and Mrs. Floren?
Hradlcy, Hrownwood: twelve
grandchildren; five great grand
children; one sister, Mr*. I
