alistic The cast was rehears-
ing the forthcoming production
of “Detective Story" Hugh
Broyles, a Midland school’ tea-
cher, was playing the part of
a prisoner handcuffed to a
chair. Time came to free him.
The key was missing. The
wrong handcuffs had been used.
Broyles was taken, chair and all,
to Midland police headquarters
where Officer Vernon Conn suc-
ceeded In picking the -lock.

Without the help of their
owner, Mrs. O. R. Ross, the fam-
ily might never have been re-
united. Mrs. Ross dimed a six-
foot ladder to reach the chick-
ens, and handed them over to
the mother.
Mrs. Ross said the hen had
been hatching the eggs In the
repossessed yarrow's nest, al-
though there were tlfc most
modern facilities all around for I
more conventional hatching.

Frdpk Overstreet, who passed
away In El Paso Sunday, were
held in the First Baptist Church
of Ooldthwaite Wednesday aft-

was In Ooldthwaite Memorial
Cemetery.
